2005-07-27, 3:04 PM #1
what do you all think is the worst comic book/video game/whatever it may be that was made into a movie?

Worst for me HAS to be Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.

It's so bad, that it is watchable.

Sorry, D&D was just too boring (until the ending scene) so it surpasses Mario Bros

It also had terrible dialogue, acting, and direction.

Super Mario Bros (if it counts, they departed so far from the games it was barely recognizable as... anything, really)[but <3 Yoshi].

Street Fighter(s).
Double... Dragon!

Every sequel to The Crow,
Every sequel to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Tank Girl (BOOM)
Spawn??
Wing Commander.

But my winner:

1991's Captain "Why, God, Why?" America

I doubt it even made sense to the stupid ape who made the plot.

i enjoyed spawn and tank girl, they were pure campy comicbook buzz.

The AvP director's cut was a lot better than the pile that as released to the theaters.

I liked the Zelda cartoon series though :(

"Well ex-cuuuuuse me, Princess!"

I know it doesn't really fit, but I think the movie version of Battlefield Earth was better than the book. Yes, I hated the end of the book THAT much that I felt the movie's lack of the book's final 100 pages or whatever made it BETTER.

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation
Street Fighter
Batman Forever
Batman and Robin
Superman IV
Super Mario Brothers (Lequizamo was funny though...)
Double Dragon
Spawn (definitely one of the top worst)
Punisher '89
X-Men 3 will probably need to be added to the list later...

x-men 3!? you serious? colossus.. beast.. juggernaut? whats to hate?

I'm crossing my fingers on X3. They changed directors, but casting Kesely Grammer as Beast was brilliant.

Super Mario Bros... definately. I haven't seen it since I was like 10, but I still remember it being terrible.

The new director. While they're adding those new characters which should be good, so far they've dropped a really cool one.

Why the hell do you hate the new director? Give him a chance at least.

So as to not derail the thread, I'm going to PM it.
"We came, we saw, we conquered, we...woke up!"

Then just PM it. Don't post a reply saying you're going to PM your reply so you don't derail the thread. Do you know how stupid that is?

I do that in case anybody else would be curious about this as well but wondered why I don't mention anything afterwards.

Do you know how stupid it is to attack someone over that? Lay off.

This de-railing threads crap is a bunch of BS.

Coversation flows, and doesn't stay in one place.

Now, I will admit there is purposeful derailing of a thread. However, a thread changing topics should not be discouraged nor should it be uncommon.
2005-07-28, 2:12 PM #38
Derailing threads is like derailing conversations.
Conversations flow along, changing topic every now and then by a chance mentioning of something, often its impossible to tell what the orginal conversation is about.
But sometimes theres an absolute tool just trying to break the conversation for his own selfish reasons.
Don't let the tool force you into rigid conversations about the topic and the topic only.
For instance it was the new xmen movie discussion that caught my interest in this thread.
The main topic seems to have been covered well, there aren't -that- many horrible comic translations... are there??

Speaking of which, mario brothers almost got my vote, but D&D takes the prizefor being not only boring the whole way through, but also having the sort of pathetic ending that would ruin a -good- movie.
You can't judge a book by it's file size
2005-07-28, 4:23 PM #39
I liked spawn until I actually read the comic. At least it had an Angela cameo.

D&D was pretty godawful.
Batman Forever wasn't that bad, especially in light of Batman and Robin.
Steal my dreams and sell them back to me.....

Was the movie Catwoman mentioned in this thread?
