I was hurt in an accident at my job, Hobby Lobby... (I'm a stockman)
So, ow... If blood grosses you out, or anything, don't read down.
At hobby lobby on Friday at around 6:30 P.M. I had an accident. I was bending over to fix a 7 foot tall floor lamp that was loose at the base, and while trying to see why it wouldn't screw in the top part of the lamp came down and hit me on the head. The part that hit me was the crystal/ceramic whatever you want to call it top. It came down and cracked me on the head and it was immediatly a bad situation. I called the manager to the stock room where it happened, and I put my hand on my head immediatly feeling blood. I thought it was so much worse than it actually was. They took me in to the office and tried to call my parents several times before finally getting ahold of them. There really *was* blood everywhere, and it was just pouring out. All they had in the entire store was just paper towels, so that's what we used. Finally my dad got there and cleaned me up a bit before we went to the ProCare little hospital facility that is responsible for any Hobby Lobby employee injuries. When we got there, we had to wait about an hour and a half before finally getting me taken care of. The blood had stopped by then, but had molded in to a hard glue type material with my hair. The doctor had to cut a bit of my hair around the bump, and then after cleaning it a bit he told me the cut was about an inch and a half long. He then proceeded by putting some numming happiness in to my head, and then giving me three staples on the cut. After that, I got a nice big mummy wrap bandage on my head and got to go home. I am *supposed* to work today, but that's not going to happen. I really hope that maybe I can take the day off and still get paid, but that's just hoping.
I have to have the staples in for 7 days, and I can't even let water touch my head for 3 days...
So I guess that's all, really the whole thing happened so fast, it was pretty crazy. It's funny too, because right before it happened I was thinking about how I'd give Hobby Lobby my two weeks notice, I guess you could consider this as a "sign". :p
