Help me decide [whether or not to install Jedi Knight]!!!

I want to, but at the same time, it will probably take up most of the remaining space on my HD, which has a little over a gig left. :o (I know there's probably been another thread just like this; sorry.)
2005-07-31, 5:39 PM #2
If you only have 1 gig, Im sure you can find some other crap to delete.
2005-07-31, 5:39 PM #3
About 1 GB left? I think it's not worth it. Get a bigger harddrive instead.

JK takes up 154 mb, and MotS takes up 187 mb. Delete a video or two.

But you can't forget room for mods and such. The only reason I still have JK installed is because of mods.

Install SITH2 instead. :D

JK is fun

I want you to install Jedi Knight so badly that I will make you a custom level. That is right, Delphian - I am making you a level!

I'll show you when it's done on the Showcase forum, and you had better darn well download it! :D

Seriously you people are making way too big of a deal about Sith2. I'm sure Jon`C and Sige will pull through and come out with something fantastic, but the original JK will still rock hard.

Install JK!

Well what's the point of JK when you have JK with better graphics, physics, and modability, that works with everything JK has? I don't think we're making way too big of a deal out of it at all considering that JK is what this site was BUILT around.

If you only have 1 gig left you should delete some other stuff. Hard drives run best when not full to full capacity.

I got real excited for a second thinking it was somehow released.

Here's a progress shot of the level I'm making for Delphian - about 30 minutes work done so far, I should be through in a couple of hours.

This thread sucks. JK will always be installed on my machine, and should be on yours too.

The votes are neck and neck...It's too close to call at the moment.

That has nothing to do with this conversation as you already said "when Sith2 comes out the original JK will still rock hard."

And another half hour. I've named the level Delphi. I realy need to make a showcase thread instead of hijacking this one. :p

am I the only one who textures as I go along in Jed? It seems that most people build the archi first and then go back and texture.

It depends on the mood I'm in. :)

Well, as usual, it took longer than expected. After 3 hours of work, I have finished archi and am only about 25% textured. Unfortunately, I will be unable to do any more at the moment because I am going away on vacation. I'll post a showcase and finished product when I get back. Delphian had best try it out. :p

It is named Delphi as in the Greek for "city" and here is one last shot before my departure.

The violence in that game is horrible, how old are you, are you a phsyco? J/K

Go for it, and why would people vote no anyway? I think they are just trying to stir up trouble.

Hell yeah, install JK, some mods, some levels. JK is awesome fun!!!

Even with mods and levels it wont take up that much space. Just get rid of some useless stuff. JK is always installed on my comp, standard, like Anovis said. :)

Join the dedicated server too: jk.servegame.com

By the way, Daft: wow. If you can make such nice levels that quickly, you should be p00ping out one each week! ;)

I actually voted for no.

Unless you plan on playing it regularly, there is no point of installing it just for the memories.

Yes, JK/MotS is timeless though and it had great attributes that make a majority of SW games (including its sequels) look like worthless s***. Unfortunately, we cannot keep it in our minds forever! If I kept it installed, I would keeping hating LEC for not delivering the quality of the original in its installments.

Get a new 160 GB hard drive to go along with your other one. That will solve all your worries. At least for a little while.

Yes, he's saying that the games that come after JK don't live up to the standard it set (unless I'm misinterpreting him).

I say install it, it takes up what 464 megs or something like that, even if you don't play it that much it's such alittle piece of your hard drive that I wouldn't worry about it, and you can always find a momment when you want to play it.
