Drinking Alone...

I always thought this was a social no-no, but having been revising (studying for our trans-atlantic chums) for my uni exams with a bottle or two of Grolsch, and I have to say, as long as you're careful, it helps a little!

Got any other good excuses to drink alone..?

I don't need an excuse, *********!

...But really, there's nothing wrong with having a few beers while watching TV or something. I guess it depends on why you're drinking alone.
A desperate disease requires a dangerous remedy.

A major source of objection to a free economy is precisely that it gives people what they want instead of what a particular group thinks they ought to want. Underlying most arguments against the free market is a lack of belief in freedom itself.

Mhh, I drink sometimes. For the taste. Yeah, that's it. But drinking alone isn't a bad thing, if you drink, then you drink, and if it's a problem, then it's your problem and if that becomes a problem for everyone else, then screw you. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

So... drinking alone is OK.

Drinking alone is a problem when you keep doing it hour after hour, and it's excessive.

EVERYTHING is a problem in excess, it's just that booze is evil so they forget the excessive part of the problem, and just say "drinking alone is bad" to the same extent as"drugs are bad". ~shrugs~

I like Grolsch because it's a lot sweeter as a lager, yet nothing beats a good Fosters when fishing.

Whoa there Captain Righteous, I think the topic says "drinking alone", not "getting drunk alone".

I drink all the time alone. I don't get drunk but I feal the effects of the stuff.

Most of the time it's beer I drink alone, liquor and excessive amounts of beer are for party purposes [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif].

In that case, Captain Defensive, I fail to see how it's different from drinking something like a glass of water or juice.

And how come every time I say something that even remotely suggests that it would be better not to get drunk, people automatically think I'm being 'holier than thou'? I'm not calling anyone a bad person for getting drunk...

At the moment I'm drinking a whole liter (litre? probably depends on AE or BE) of water all by myself because I'm thirsty.

But often when I go to the Asian imbiss in the evening I drink some sake. Can't eat Asian food without good warm sake.
Well, you can do without but it's more fun with.

I've been a Guinness fan for a while now, meaning that's one of the few things I'll drink... so anyways, go to this party, all they had was Sam Adams and Corona, I tried both and they were ridiculously light and had no taste at all. Needless to say, I didnt drink that night and I was sad.

Drinking alone is ok as long as you're not drinking because you're pissed off at the world and just want to get drunk because that makes you a dirty drunk and dirty drunks get hit with baseball bats.

Labbat Blue is a really good beer.
I drink beer for a buzz, I usually won't get drunk off it. I'm picky with my beer, some stuff I just refuse to touch.

Hard stuff, anyt hing goes. Because I'm gonna get drunk.

Same here. I like Blue and Keith's. I tried to like Guiness to honour my Irish heritage, but the stuff is just nasty, IMO

I'm 15 and I don't drink...obviously. Well not obviously...considering the ammount of kids that brag about being drunk every night.

"LOL! I DOWNED LIEK 20 GALLONS OF TEQUILLA, AND I THREW UP MY LIVER AND PASSED OUT!"

"WOAH! AWESOME DUDE! I GOT TO HUG MY TOILET ALL NIGHT! AND THROW UP!"

"NIIIICE!!!"

I am not saying everyone that drinks is a stupid teenager drunk..I am saying that alot of people do it..and it's stupid...IMO booze and all forums of alchohol taste like crap. My dad says its an aquired taste....Why aquire a taste that sucks? If you want to relax and get a buzz, do it like normal people. Watch porno and drink a pot of coffee.

Coffee tastes crappier than any liqueur I've ever tasted :P

People who drink themselves to the stomach pump, or utter unconciousness piss the hell out of me. It just seems like a massive sign of weakness/lack of self control.

And yeah, I'd say beer is definitly an acquired taste. Try coolers, they're sweet as hell, and taste great. Wait, you're 15, I'm not telling you to drink [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]
