saw it on the news earlier, but it was only the basic story, the bbc hadn't gotten any info about casualties. I assumed everyone would have died, it's absolutely amazing that nobody did

I think people are somewhat confused about this event. It's not like the aircraft straight crashed from the air. It landed and then overshot the runway a bit or something and crashed into a ditch. The plane didn't even really catch fire until everyone got off. It's not amazing at all that no one died...maybe a bit lucky but it's not the miracle people are making it out to be.

yeah, but imagine the thoughts of the people in the airport and the highway passing it.... alot of people see fire and smoke from the airport they're going to assume something more drastic happened.

Still, it's good that no one was majorly injured or killed.

Why is the answer to why always why? Why is there no final answer to why? Simply why not? Holy cow, this is pretty deep, meaningful **** I wrote. Glad I wrote it down. Oh man."

Half of them here are yellow, the other half are red. It depends on which side of the street you live on.

Airplane fuel is very volatile and burns very hot. Yeah they're lucky they were on landing and not taking off, but it's still amazing no one died.

There have been previous accidents where a plane overshot a runway on landing which resulted in many deaths. Basically they were lucky that the plane didnt impact with anything significant after leaving the runway, and that the plane took a little while to catch fire. If the fire had found the fuel tanks instantly there would have a lot of casualities.
