Angel finale (spoilers)

who saw it, and what did you think? (If you did see it, read on, if you didn't see it yet and want to, stop reading. If you didn't see it and really don't care, then why are you reading this thread? [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif])

Personally, I got into the show late in the series, and only started watching it this season b/c it was the only good thing that was on in the fall semester after I came home from a night class. My favourite character has to be Spike, he's the one that I can relate to the most, really like the attitude that Marsters displays while playing that role. I'm glad they brought him back for this season (even though it was only to boost ratings a little). I have the finale on VHS and I already have most of this season's episodes on Divx.

The finale was good, although I was expecting to see angel made human again, b/c that's basically been what the series was about up until now. He basically signed it away, which left me feeling cheated. Then I figured that he was going to be dusted at the end, but that didn't happen either. Basically, I expected something spectacular to happen, but all Angel did was kill a bunch of guys. In the end, nothing really changed other than that they aren't working for wolfram and hart anymore.

Personally, I liked the buffy finale better. At least the series went out with a bang, plus we got to see spike go up in flames.

However, I like Angel more as a series than buffy. The Angel series just seems more adult and mature than buffy ever did.

Post your thoughs on the finale and the series as a whole.

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, "You're next." They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

Or so it seemed to be until the point when it became a soap opera and then everyone started gaining superpowers and then they completely ****ed up cordelia's character and made her incredibly stupid and annoying as hell. I loved the first two seasons or so.. then I just stopped watching.

The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

*spoiler*

They didn't screw up her character, unless you mean how she became less self-centered in season 3. She was possessed by an evil higher power in season 4.

The ending reminded me of the fight in the sewers in season 4. How they keep on fighting even though they can't win.

I was moved when Wesley died, but if they were going to kill anyone it had to be him, his character arc had come to an end. The other characters can still be developed in the possible tv movies.
