It's interesting how the girl's parents are both lookign down in the same direction, but I can't figure out what's so interesting.

OK: My hint, and I hate giving easy hints:

So far, we've determined that the little girl is, indeed, surprised by something, but that something is offscreen. We've also noted that the entire frame appears to be reversed, as if reflected. But that doesn't mean there can't be reflections *in* reflections.... OPEN YOUR MINDS

Free: No, but nice try - I'm not faded over some obscure thing. I'm in a semi-cartoonishly logical place, that is, it would be more likely for me to be in a poster than to have a picture of my thumb woven into someone's jacket. Too bad I'm not in a poster.

That's the woman reflected in the floor as seen through the glass railing. The girl is looking a little more down than that, anyway.

This is how I guessed it. If the girl can see you, but you can't be seen there, you must be past that wall. Which means you must be reflected on that celing. Right? I didn't see you until I actually flipped the image. That's sneaky.

Also, note that the skylight doesn't actually go straight down the top of the image: it's actually reflected off a panel of mirrors, and I'm in that reflection, so there's just a crazy amount of reflections going on here.
