Andy Kaufman RETURNS!!!!
2004-05-20, 1:27 PM #1
When i went into work earlier this afternoon i decide to read the comics in the local paper, I pick it up, start to remove the front section, already knowing that the comics were well inside the paper. And then, I see something, . . a picture towards the bottom of the front page, a picture of Kaufman, I read on to find out that It has been confirmed within a 99% chance that a man stepping forward this week, the twentith anversery of Kaufman's death is infact Andy Kaufman.

For further confirmation please see : http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/040519/234/726q1.html

Please feel free to post your thoughts and feelins on the biggest prank EVER.

That's pretty wild. I have my doubts. I'll check for further verification.

What makes you actually think this is true? Yahoo is hardly a trustworthy news site. That can be any old guy in a Tony Clifton suit. At least all the old members of Taxi still bare great resemblence to their younger years.

It's nerve-wracking because you're like "it's a freakin blog?!" but then you think about it and... this is exactly the kind of stunt Andy would pull, to keep people guessing!!!

If it was true, why would he have a blog instead of going on the Letterman show?
2004-05-20, 3:05 PM #11
because he supposedly wants to keep his low key lifestyle. letterman isn't exactly low-key [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Meh. I remember watching the bios of him on TV, and I can't say I was fond of him BEFORE he dissapeared off the face of the planet. If this really is him, I can't say I'm enthused, though it wouldn't be out of his character.

I've never heard of him. Should I be happy he isn't dead?

He should have built up plenty of matterial in 20 years.

Yeah, before coming back here once i got home tonight, i went through the reaction post on th "blog." and was linked over to the snopes page on the subject. It was a good, and I will say believable, prank, espically considering the type of person Kaufman was.

I would have loved for this whole thing to be true, and that is probably why I believed it. He was an icon, he was a comedic god. For the sake of my heart, which is dedicated to humour, I hoped that he really was back. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

Well, this doesn't turn me away from kaufman's sence of humour, but it shows me that there are others out there, especially those who pulled it off, that appreciate it too.

It might be him, or it might not. With Kaufman, deviding fact from fiction is damn near impossible.

I'll just pay more attention to the news, for the next few weeks, for word on this.

So, wait, it was proven that it was a prank? [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]. Darn. The only experience i have with Kaufman's humor was 'Man on the Moon', unfortunatly, but from that this seemed like exactly the sort of stunt he would pull. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]
