I'll make an epitome of the info I gotten about the game from my Official Playstation Magazine.
The graphics look pretty nice in the magazine, but I'm not sure if it's the PS2 version or the PC or X-Box's version. Basically you choose one of the four armies to command (Rebels vs. Imperials or Republic vs. Separatists). You cannot mix and match those armies. For instance, you cannot do Rebels vs. Separatists. You can fight on any number of planets like Hoth, Yavin IV, Geonosis, Kashyyyk (Chewbacca's home world that you will see in Episode III).
After that you pick a class such as soldier, heavy soldier, pilot, scout, or a unique unit (Imperials get lieutenants, Rebels gets spies, etc.).
Flyable known crafts are X-Wings, TIE Fighters, and Republic gunships (can hold as many as 6 troops. 1 pilot, 1 rear gunner, and 4 side gunners). You can ride AT-ATs, speeder bikes and tauntauns.
Game types include Instant Action (a quick match) and Conquest.
In Conquest, two sides take turns attacking different planets and. The winner of each match gets to choose the next planet to attack. Whoever conquers all the planets, wins the campaign. Maintaining a planet for at least a match grants bonuses to the side holding the planet; for example, whoever holds Tatooine might be able to call on Luke or Vader for reinforcements. Another possible bonus attack is the Death Star attack, where the Empire instantly wins the round (conversely, the Rebels can use Rebel Uprising for the same effect).
The Death Star attack sounds very interesting.
