I haven't seen a thread here posted about it, so I thought I'd fill in any interested persons with the info.

It's going to be pretty darn hunking huge by August 27 (almost the size of the moon) so you'd better keep an eye out on the night sky when you get a chance for the opportunity of a lifetime!

Discuss.

Cool.... I guess. Maybe this means we need to find a rare medallion and place it in the right slot at the exact moment the planets align...

Welcome to 2 years ago. And mars wasn't even close to looking like a full moon. This will be happening again in November, but it won't be as close as it was 2 years go.

This hoax has been circulating the internet for a while now. Mars will not come even near close enough to appear the size of a full moon. If Mars were that close, the disturbances in Earth's gravity would cause major tidal waves and other magnetic problems. Sorry to spoil all the fun. :em321:

Also it might hit the moon! That would really suck

The truth is, Mars is only going to stop by and steal our moon so that the martians can find out if there really was life on the moon.

Or they're jealous that we have a better moon than Phobos and Deimos will ever be.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

I hope you have a telescope cause you won't see much without it, Mars passing "close" isn't exactly what you would consider close.
