... and that 247 million people haven't actually signed up for it...

http://www.worldjumpday.org/

God I hate people sometimes. If I were ruler of the planet, this is how I would combat overpopulation: anyone stupid enough to sign up for this would be KILLED.

Funny. I don't think this is real though. At least I hope not...

Didn't they do this last year?

This doesn't accomplish anything but humility.

So if people are jumping all over the world, doesn't that really just cancel it all out? Not that it would work in the first place.

They all jump at different times, that's what the timezone thing is for.

I have an idea: let's round up all the people who jump, put them in one spot, and then nuke. The force from the nuclear blast would be greater than the force of all their jumps combined and would have a much better chance of ending global warming forever. Everyone wins!

Thrawn, I like it. Good idea. *starts building nuke*

DO NOT WANT.

I vote we make a site that encourages people to jump on the other side of the world at the exact same time... :em321:

I vote I assassinate all of you for being a bunch of stuck up try hards.

I'm just wondering which scientists they are referencing that supposedly support this theory.
Life is beautiful.

Hahaha! That can't be serious.

I would laugh if they got enough people and did this, but instead of doing what it claims it would do, the earth spirals out of control into the sucking black void of space.

Ok I wouldn't laugh, but it'd still be ironic.

Prof. Hans Peter Niesward, from the ISA/München.

According to that site at least.

.....

This is insanely dumb.

They expect people jumping will be able to change Earth's orbit, yet the decades of nuclear weapons testing in the past didn't do a damn thing.

"I wonder to myself. Why? Simply why? Why why? Why do I ask why? Why do I need to find out why? Why do I have to ask why as a question? Why is why always used to find out why? Why is the answer to why always why? Why is there no final answer to why? Simply why not? Holy cow, this is pretty deep, meaningful **** I wrote. Glad I wrote it down. Oh man."

I propose we organize the next jump day for this very reason.

I think the organisers are just random guys who want to see lots of racked ladies jump up and down...
