Two quick questions.

1) Was his lightsaber orange or yellow? I see A LOT of conflicting information on the internet about it.

2) What happened to it after Kyle took it? He had a blue one in Outcast, what happened to his old one.

1) It was yellow.

2) I have no real clue maybe that was explained in MotS. As far as I know he made his own lightsaber sometime before outcast. He probably swapped Yun's for a pretty red one in MotS.

It was the same yun saber in MotS. He probably gave the old one to Luke.

-Then gave his new one to Luke. I wonder who else gives their sabers to Luke. that'd be pretty cool: Charging people for lightsaber storage...

Luke makes the green one. Sarris (sp) destroys kyle's old one.

so he either changed sabers between MotS and JO or simply changed out his crystals

The JK to mots thing is a screw up. It's SUPPOSED to be yellow.



Other than that, no one freaking knows.

Rahan originally made the green saber years before JK and gave it to Morgan (we all know how the rest goes). Kyle still had Yun's saber for the 5 years that followed, including the time he spent training Mara and turning to the dark side on Drumund Kaas. After that, 1 of 3 things happened: either kyle destroyed Yun's saber himself to show that he was leaving the order, he gave it to Luke (which wouldn't make a lot of sense since he created the blue saber just after MOTS at the accademy on Yavin IV) or Mara and Kyle fought on Dromund Kaas and Mara destroyed the saber to defeat Kyle (given how much things were changed between the Dark Forces games and books, it is theoretically possible). 5 years after MOTS, kyle picked his blue saber back up from the academy. The rest is the poorly constructed story that was JO/JA (though each had a few good points).

Didn't MOTS take place after JO/JA?

Kyle looks like he's about 50 or 60 in MOTS, and in JO/JA he looks like he's about 40.

Of course, LEC was never one for contuinuity, so it's possible that LEC screwed up Kyle's saber color in MOTS, hence the orange blade.

In JO, I always change the saber colour to yellow to restore continuity.

Just to remind/correct you all, Kyle's green saber was actually destroyed by Boc, not Sariss. Boc throws a huge rock down on the saber, breaks it and says "not so distinctive now is it? hahahhahhahah!" And then Sariss steps in and says "Enough of this! Tell Jerec this jedi has joined the force" (ok I know that sariss quote was wrong, but close enough).

Then Yun blocks for Kyle, dies, yadda yadda, Kyle fights Sariss with Yun's saber.

MotS is so full of continuity errors and plot holes that you really have to push things around to consider it canon. The WotC articles do a decent job, but it's still fairly ridiculous. (I could go into detail, but I'll spare you my ranting.)

As for the saber colors and whatnot, Kyle was still doing some Jedi stuff with the academy after the end of JK (and/or MotS if you consider it canon) until he left the order, so my guess would be that somewhere during that time he built his own (blue) lightsaber, as is traditional for Jedi students. He probably just didn't keep Yun's. Obi-wan didn't keep Qui-gon's saber after TPM, for example; he just made a new one for himself. It wouldn't be unreasonable to assume that Kyle did something similar.

Kyle might have done that as well. I really wish that someone would release an MOTS book (like the DF books).

As for the whole timeline thing, you can find the info in the game manuals (at least for MOTS. JO i'm not sure about, as the manual is sitting with my copy of JO's jewel case somewhere in the basement. I havn't seen the CD since sometime during high-school when i accidentally left it in a lab computer during a project. but enough of my ranting). Anywho, it reads somewhere that JO happens 5 years after MOTS, and JA probably happens a year later (five or take. i don't think there was ever an official number). I've got a question for all of you though (as i have no idea, and i'd like to establish where all this happens in relation to the canon SW timeline: exactly WHEN does JK occur? (how many years after ROTJ?)

Everythung I've read says a year after RotJ. MotS is five years after JK.

MotS never happened and never happens. It was all a fever dream and JO/JA ignores it completely.

I think this is how it goes...

Kyle gets the yellow saber from yun, uses it for a while (hell maybe he modified it so that is why it is orange) and after MotS he probably put that one away at his home and tried to finish his jedi training by building his own (blue) but he was tempted by the dark side so he gave up his jedi ways and turned in his saber to luke......

The mots saber only looks a little orange because of a screw up.

As for the true story, only nerds can care.
