With a new job coming soon (had my license for a while now, about to go job hunting) along with moving back with my friends who skate all the time, I've been itching to get into skating again. Anyone else (other than Mentis) skate or have skated here, and if so, any good deals you know of? I know the regular sites that I visit are skatepile.com and other warehouse shops but someone might know of a friend who's getting rid of an awesome pair of skates for cheap or something, and it'd be good to know of something like that.

Also, post your favorite physical activity. Guess you guys know mine already, though my second is definitely Ultimate Frisbee.

I like tennis. Aiming at people on the opposite side of the court with a tennis ball is fun. So I curve and slice the ball so it could fly directly at the opponent. Am I a horrible human being?

Yeah, this thread sucks because it's not about the game.

Wait, are you actually talking about rollerblading or skating? I skate, but I don't inline. I'm not really any good, though, and there aren't really a whole lot of good spots over here in India. It's still lots of fun though

Also, I rock climb and jump off and over things as much as possible.

ultimate frisbee, I pride myself on being the laziest person on the pitch yet doing the most to contribute towards points. 3 day tournament this weekend. I'm trying to think up some new throws, I only know 14 (well 24, but I can only do two of them with both hands) :(

I tried skating on a miniboard I found at a park with some friends once. One said, "ok, go ahead, I'll catch you if you fall, hehe". Well I fell, but he sure as hell didn't catch me. Damn near killed myself, too.

As for physical activities, I love cross country and fencing, boxing has its place, too.

I like how on this forum this thread didn't immediatly involve into a "omg lollerskatez are lame you shuld sk8board liek tony hawk"

Seriously, more often than not someone says that at the mention of aggressive inline.

Personally, I rock climb, freestyle foot-bag, aggressive inline, some skateboarding.

Well we already know you inline. You still do it often? I'm thinking about getting some Razor Cult 4's--only 160 at skatepile and they come free shipping with a free Mindgame beanie.

Daily sport: Kenpo Karate and Tai Chi Chuan (Martial Arts). I also spend 3-4 hours at the gym 4-5 times a week.

In the Winter: I love snowboarding. A lot.

Other times: Kayacking! We got a lot of places for it in Missouri.

If you've puked, you've run a good race. My track coach in college had a smile on his face everytime some said "I'm gonna hurle!" Knowing Wes he probably got a slight perverse pleasure but the bulk of his smile was the fact you pushed yourself that much.

No! It takes skill to accurately curve a ball directly at someone.

Not nearly as often as I used to, but I get out every now and again.

Those Cult 4's are nice, the only durability issue with them will be the bearings. Take good good care not to hit any water or they'll lock up really quick. If that happens, opt for an upgrade over abec 3s :).

Razor has always made some of the best skates that aren't 250+. I paid 330 for my USDs, but it was soooo worth it. They don't even sell my kind of skates anymore so I feel special.

What'd you get? Feinberg Thrones?

Yeah, Razor's awesome, but I feel they have too much of a monopoly over the market. I'd almost rather get Rollerblade or Solomon for this reason.

Don't get either of those, not very good. Razor deserves it's monopoly, it was started as a garage company hand-making every skate.

I have the Jon Julio Pro model, the first USD skate to use UFS frame tech (which is now the industry standard).

Jon Julios are awesome, and Rollerblade has a really good line with TRS. My friend's about to sell his Morales TRS pros and I'm thinking about getting them. I always liked them because they went for the feel of a real shoe instead of a pair of skates, very comfortable. Solomons are decent but they haven't come out with anything great in a long time (in fact, their best model is still their ST-90).

But yeah, Razor has some great skates, but if you don't fund the other companies, how are they supposed to roll out with new brands? I mean IMYTAs don't pay THAT much ;)

Before I quit we had local IMYTAs with our skaters. That's the greatest thing I remember doing ever. Makes me wanna practice hella, but I don't have anyone else to skate with anymore.

Here's a pic of my skates, doing a crappy soul-grind. Unfortunatly, this is the only pic that we ever took of me and it was right when I first got my skates so I don't have anything cooler.
