...Came up with your name! Stories, random thoughts, or some other form of explanation wll do!

I first was Tloc_Zloc_Kill in Gamespy, Tloc was a clan (didn't know it at the time) and changed the T to Z and then added kill on the end. Then I came to massassi a year or two later, and was told to change it to Zloc. Then I forgot my Zloc woggle password, and changed from Zloc to Zloc_Vergo, the name I was using in UR (Underground Resistance mod) at the time.
I had a blog. It sucked.

Three incarnations, and one random.

TKv3 - inspired by a random fanfic and subsequently used on the Zone.
Big Mad Tony - inspired by Adrian Turnipseed, student, of UU fame.
- Tony - - inspired by my first name.
Donkeydeathtasticelastic - inspired by Cannon Fodder.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

Started as LividDoorknob, which was a Zone generated name since Doorknob was taken. Then it became SiCe_LividDK after joining Sith Central (SiCe_LividDoorknob was too long). After I left that I signed up here as LividDK, then left for a while and when I came back I'd forgotten my password, so I added 27 to the end like with my MSN and Yahoo addresses.

It was something I wanted as an aol sn way back when. A friend had suggested it in reference to Boba Fett.

I was the emperor in a not quite serious Star Wars roleplay. They called me Impi, short for Imperator, and that's what I'm stuck with.

Anyone remember the Asian shoe-throwing assassin in Austin Powers? I figure this would be his name.

That was Random Task!

My name is just cool.

Oh, and Farmergeddon, I can't remember how I came up with that.

Okay, my dad installed jk and mots for me a while back (b/c my parents didn't want me to mess anything up with installing stuff) and he tested the games under the name "Darth Slaw" to see if the games worked correctly. When I registered, I needed a user name... it was starwars-ish, and kinda silly, so here I am...
May the mass times acceleration be with you.

I went by Rouge Leader on the zone, but hen I joined an XWA clan with an Imperial slant, so I changed to Avenger, which came from Balance of power. Avenger was the Imperial equivalent to Rouge Squadron in the game.

Well, I had *thought* I came up with the first name, (which I also use in roleplaying etc), but I later found out it was also the name of the very flamboyant Glyde in Mega Man Legends 2. However, the last name is something I came up with bored one day.

BobTheMasher I just made up waaaay back int he day (I think I was 8 or so?) because I like mashed potatoes (no more than any other food really...just....I don't know. Give me a break, it was a long time ago!) So...Bob, generic name, and I mash. Stuff, people, potatoes. I dunno. Errrhh...

I also go by Warhead, as you can see by my sig. I got that name back in Tribes. I guess I was fairly good at that game, at least against the people I was playing at the time. Me and my friend were on the phone and in the same server (voice-comm in the olden days!) and we were on the same team. We took off for an enemy outpost and he screwed up and kinda lagged behind by a second or two, and i flew straight into the base and in a freak occurance, managed to rape the crap out of it. Destroyed everything, killed 4 people...i think they put mines all over and I detonated them. Hell, I don't remember, it was so random. So he flew in and there was blown up stuff everywhere and he yelled over the phone "christ, did a warhead go off in here?" or something to that effect. So I was like "Yeah, I did."

A LEGEND WAS BORN. :p

One day, as I was looking for a name, I was reading random Star Wars facts on Wikipedia, and I ended up on the Pilots page. Biggs Darklighter... Wedge Antilles... Wes Janson...

I liked Wes for its shortness, and Darklighter was an interesting contradiction.

Mine is another Star Wars nerd name . . .

JDKNITE188 = J[e]DKNI[ght] + e (so it wouldn't be oddly spelled JDKNIT) + 188. I always liked the number 8, and it was nice that 8t88 just happened to be in JK too.

First an aol sn (I don't even use AIM anymore now) but now I just use it at Massassi. On the other hand, my multiplayer alias II88BlackOps (now shortened to Ops008 on CS:S) comes from the number 8 and the Half-Life SP enemy known as the Black Ops.

Well, basically I needed a new name, because JediHunter_X sounded stupid and fanboy-ish (I can't remember how I came up with that one), and I was reading the CD insert for Animals Should Not Try to Act Like People, and apparently one of the earlier lineups of what would become Primus went by Primate, and thus, this account was born.

My name is a bit long really. Oh well, cant think of a new one :p

On MSN i had my display name as The Jedi Knight Who Says Ni for ages. A combonation of things from 2 of my favourite movies. Then I decided to register for AOL IM but it was too long so I shortened it to TheJkWhoSaysNi. It just kinda stuck and i reregistered on massassi with it. :)

Gamma, as being my favorite squadron from TIE Fighter, and sts from Stormtrooper Squadron (which was gonna be a clan, but never worked). I then got too lazy to remove the sts anyways, and it doesn't look good as just Gamma cause other people use that.

For my clan though, I use =HT=Gamma, cause gammasts looks really stupid there.

Haha yea, there were 349048 different types of pommys you could get, each with a different attack (n you can have your friend play as him instead of having a dumbass cpu that doesn't know how to help)

My name came partly from the fact that I was constantly forced to play as pommy and not as bomberman haha

So there I was...doing spanish homework and I needed several names for people in an exercise. I put down Rob, then Robert. Next I put down Bob. I had to continue the pattern, so I but down Bobbert as two B's in the middle seemed to look better. I thought the name was funny and mentioned it to Charoziac who slapped 00#'s on the back of it for a JK clan. Most of the other guys have moved on from Bobbert00# and now in DoD use [Bobbert] tags. I liked the old name, so I have stayed with it. Actually, now that I'm the only Bobbert#'s guy I wouldn't mind having the numbers removed.

Well, short version, "Jedi_Knight_Yoda" was taken on the zone, so I hit random name and picked this one off the list comlpetely at random... or so I thought...
Long version: My initials are BJ (you think you have it bad?). I probably subconciously selected the name for this reason. Years later, I discovered that "Jarl" has a number of connotations throughout history... Okay, mostly just Norse history, to be honest. Jarl was a hero who had 3 paretns and 11 children. 11! In addition, "Jarl" was the title for the Norse ruling class, and the root of the word "Earl".

-I just don't like to think about the fact that my name means "Bearded Earl".
2005-08-25, 1:24 PM #30
Well, I desperately needed a name, because "GandalftheGrey" was getting pretty lame. :p So, a small ammount of thought later I hit the perfect name. It's nice because no-one else takes it.

Shortened version-

played MOTS as a mercenary with a silly skin. named him Miran Begar

emailed someone who made a map to tell them i liked it (it really sucked. rooms were untextured, stuff didnt work)

started using Miran Beggar in emails to editors. (i dont think I had internet at home at the time)

Changed Miran Beggar to Merran Beggar to make it sound cooler.

Then somehow I found my way to the forum, a section of the site I never went to before. I think it was to check a SOTD. I also saw 2 posts by the same person and thought it was 2 different people (dumb)

So i went to register as Merran Beggar. Decided I wanted to shorten it. MerranB looks stupid MerranBeggar doesnt really help... so I stuck with MBeggar. I dont like the name that much. not at all really. Its familiar looking though so its kinda cool. i go by mb in the chat though. thats cool too.
[01:52] <~Nikumubeki> Because it's MBEGGAR BEGS LIKE A BEGONI.

You know we're all gonna call you Merran now... :em321:

Two games I liked at the time I needed an internet handle. I go by The_MAZZTer now on the forums because 1) I needed a new name since I don't play those two games anymore 2) I needed something close to my old name so people would still recognise me (devnulljedi and localhost never went over well) and 3) This sounds cool.

Oxyonagon.

Ontagon - some form of shape.

FullMetal Alchemist, one of my favourite anime series.

Also use Flawless Soul, both with links to FMA and AFI's Total Immortal, which happens to be one of my favourite songs. Heh, I've got a LAN t-shirt with Flawless on the front.

It was great fun (for about ten minutes) when we were playing UT2004, every time the game finished with a Flawless Victory, I'd yell "YAY I WIN". Eventually I got pelted with pringles.
"Whats that for?" "Thats the machine that goes 'ping'" PING!

When I first started out on the Zone way back in the day, I was "OBrien_4". After that, when I started editing JK, I worked under the name "RGB465", which is a combination of my initials and a few numbers which mean . .well . . they don't mean much of anything anymore.
Then I quit the JK editing community. I got a job. Life was great. I built myself a new computer and got back in the community. I was still editing under "RGB465", but I wasn't doing much so it didn't matter.

Then I got canned. I was left with a hand built, top of the line system, and all the time in the world.

The job I was working at the time, the one that I lost, was where I got this name. I was a sales associate selling pools. There was a POS terminal system in the store that we used for everything from inventory control to timekeeping... It was a classic IBM setup with an AS/400 mainframe at main office, token ring networking cable running everywhere, nasty amber-black monochrome monitors with 75-pound IBM keyboards, etc. We all had these 3 digit user codes that we used to log into our proprietary retail software. I always assumed that 'gbk' was randomly generated by that software, but recently I realized that it may be a mangling of my initials and last name. Ill probably never know, but it suppose it doesn't matter.

Anyway, I used the code regularly; every time I needed to use the POS system, I had to put in my username. Hundreds of times a day for months.

When I was canned, I decided to join Massassi. When the script asked me for a username, I instinctively typed 'gbk'. I said why not and changed it to all caps.

When Massassi upgraded to the new forums, I asked one of the admins to change it to lower-case. And here we are....
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

Usually when someone working with computers has the name "RGB", it's about color.

-That makes you... like, weird.
