This is just great. The effects of certain chemicals on a spider's ability to form a web, specifically caffeine.

I remember posted that a while ago, its quite interesting. There was a human form of this with LSD and drawing a picture. Lets just say, the picture was quite the drawing.

They should have given one MD. The damn spider would have made 90 webs before self-imploding with enjoyment of the MD.

I cant see it.. Yet another page I cannot view due to my stupid internet problem.

EDIT: Ok, I can see it now.. (****ing internet) and yeah, it's true that Caffeine is worse for the human body than most drugs out there... I thought this was common knowledge?

Some of them are quite... Creepy, and what the guy was doing while drawing equally.

Caffeine doesn't really do anything to me. Except put me in a good mood.

My mom, on the other hand, gets super paranoid from the stuff.

That some interest biology experiments. I wish I could feed spider chemicals when I was in biology class.

Someone add a "f" to "Cafeine" in the thread title. For some reason, it's bothering me alot. :gbk:

I like the seventh drawing.

As for the spider though, they should see what happens after crystal meth.

Well benzedrine is an amphetamine so it would be very similar to what you see on that one. Apparently amphetamines cause spiders to create smaller webs, but caffeine is the only one that completely messes up their webs

So caffeine is the worst drug of all. YAY!

So, last night after drinking some Mountain Dew, I found that I was better able to do 3D modelling, whereas prior to that, I couldn't even get a basic thing going. I'd been away from caffeine for about a month.

Why am I opposite?! Why am I so frickin' wierd?! :(

*cries*

[Also, I seem to follow with the spider vaguely when it comes to music. Less caffeine = easier to play, more caffeine = harder to play. Although I haven't made decent observations to know that for sure. But it seems that way. Maybe it only affects certain parts of my brain.]

[Actually, now that I think about it, I remember drinking two cans of pop right before a show, and I played the worst I've ever played.]

[Bah, now I remember the show I played best at I had a can of pop beforehand, although I don't remember what that one was, so I don't know if it had caffeine.]

First of all, the fact that you are focusing so much on whether caffeine affects such and such means you will be affected by placebo anyways. A spider isn't a clear indication of how these drugs affect human's at all. I mean, according to these results you could function better on LSD then on caffeine, and I can tell you for a fact that's not true (not that LSD is bad, just that you are going to be really ****ed up when you are on it)

Most people take it for granted because it's in Coke and coffee and stuff.

Mind, there's almost no caffeine in those drinks. Barely any at all. It's actually an extremely potent substance. Read that something like a tablespoon of pure caffeine can kill you, or something.

A gram of pure caffeine to an unaddicted, untouched person COULD kill them. But to people who have been exposed for a while that number is quite drastically increased (for instance, I've had a gram and a half in just an hour.)

Considering I have results varying in both directions, I fail to see how I'm affected by a placebo effect.
