Zaru Soba!

Possibly the greatest meal you can eat. A soya sauce is used as a dipping sauce as you dip the buckwheat Soba noodles [boiled and chilled] into it with possibly some onions and Wasabi.

I'm not kidding you; out of all the meals I ate in Japan, Soba is possibly the greatest tasting thing. I have, since Japan, been making it in my house for breakfast, lunch, and dinner whenever I don't have time for something elaborate. It takes 10 minutes to make, is cheap [90 cents or so for a 4 meal pack of noodles. 40 cents for the sauce.], and REALLY healthy [Minus the wasabi, which is also expensive if it's REAL wasabi. Not that horseraddish crap.]

Has anyone ever tried this snack? Honestly, it's absolutelly fantastic. Post your favorite unusual meals that most people probably haven't had.

[BTW, I'm eating Zaru Soba as we speak :-D]

Eating Zaru Soba is quite a treat indeed, but be concerned about your health. The Japenese don't eat this except in special occasions...paticulary because that meal is high in salt and carbs, and could be dangerous if you eat too much of it (I'm talking about 3-5 meals a day, 7 days a week).

Remeber, there are other Japenese foods out there that are worth trying. :D

If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.
