Starwars Shotgun...

Since the FC-1 in JO/JA looks... horrible, I'd like you, artists of massassi, to design a shotgun-like weapons with Starwars in-mind. Stay away from scopes and keep the sights simple, unless it really looks like it'd work. Try to keep it shotgunish, but keep it to one barrel.

Also, multiple perspectives would help, and if you do multiple perspectives, try to keep size correct. Use graph paper if possible, so if the barel is 3 squares thick in one view, it stays that way in another, etc.

For JK.

Thanks!

The Flechette gun isn't even supposed to be anything like a shotgun... JO/JA just made it that way because... they're dumb like that. Yep.

Always thought it looked more like a blow dryer myself, but I can see where you're coming from with the shower head thing too.

For my purposes, I'm trying to go with a shotgun feel.

Go look at the Complete Guide to Weapons and Technology. The FC-1 in that book is the same thing that you see in JO/JA. With the exception of two weapons, every weapon in JO/JA was designed like they appear in that book.

If this is for UR, I say leave the FC-1 the way it is. I couldn't see using a shotgun type flechette launcher.

The flachette came from the Han Solo at Star's End, Han Solo's Revenge, and the other one of the Corporate Sector books (Han Solo and the Lost Legacy?). It's supposed to be a grenade that shot needles and there was a gun too, if I recall that the Corporate Sector "Espo" security guys used.

Correct.

Going by the very same guide that Phoenix mentioned earlier, the Flechette launcher fired guided flechette canisters which would explode within a certain radius of the target, sending the sharp flechettes in every direction. It's not supposed to act like a shotgun AT ALL, nor is it really supposed to act like a glorified grenade launcher.

It was late. My spelling degrades the longer I stay up at night.

As CoW said, the canisters to a very limited extent are guided. What you do is program in your target and set the canister to detonate approx, 10 feet or meters (forget which now) in front of the target for maximum dispersal. If you don't have the time to do that however, the canisters can be fired unprogramed. Not as effecient, but much faster.
