Very quick question, but need reply fast. I need help with wave functions, and I'm a complete math moron. The equations are in this format:

y(x,t) = A sin(ωt ± kx) which equals

y(x,t) = A sin( (2π/T) t ± (2π/λ)x )

I need clarification on:
T and λ, or just a bit of info explaining the above equations.

They are the periods, I believe.

The top one is a wave equation for travelling waves.

T refers to the period and λ is the wavelength. The varible ω is called the angular frequency which is correctly as you stated 2π/T or 2πf.
