Last night, I figured, just for the hell of it, I'd download and rate EVERY MP level for MotS, complete with comments. I love living such a full, rich life... :p

Every JK level was the original idea, but I figure I'll do MotS as a practise run. Problem is it might take a while, because, surprisingly, I do have plenty to do... normally, except this week, I've got nothing to do except go on the computer and eat cheetos, so I figure this'll be interesting.

Umm, just so you realize this (I have a full backup of the Massassi fileserver), there is 176 different MOTS MP levels on Massassi.

Considering how you can't load all those levels at once, and it takes a good 15 minutes to rate each level (walking around, writing the report, changing the levels in the directory, then loading the new level), that'd equate to about 44 straight hours of work, or almost 2 straight days.

Now as crazy as that is... let's do the JK MP levels, shall we?

There are *drumroll* 1,300 (Exactly, oddly enough) JK MP levels on Massassi. That's about 13 1/2 days STRAIGHT of work.

Not to rain down on your idea, but... that's a bit impossible for anyone to dedicate their time to.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to really work hard at this, I just want something to do to keep me busy. I don't even expect to get all of MotS done in one week.

That said, I'm still gonna do this for the helluva it, and I've just got the first level.

But CM! He'll finished it before EITHER of those level sections are updated!

You'll probably end up posting pictures of yourself half wasted with your JK disc in your mouth.

Or you'll do what that SF_gold_01 (or something) guy did and promise loads of things he couldn't give.

And what is the point of this? These days, people don't download MotS MP levels much anymore. And the authors of the MotS levels probably don't care what you say about their levels now.

Naturally, no one really cares about MotS levels anymore. I just want to give it a tribute, I always liked it more then JK personally, so naturally it could be fun to check all the levels out.

EDIT: Massassi's taking its sweet time to email me so I can start commenting...

Matty you forgot that half the maps are 1 rooms made by newbs who released their first level.

Honestly, who here even cares about MotS? The game wasn't all that enjoyable, I always got a sense of claustrophobia playing the game, and that was SP or MP. Then again I never got to play much MP as no one wanted to play it. They wanted Canyon Oasis.

Go back and read the first post on this thread. Then tell me if you've found the answer to your question.

BTW, when is Massassi going to update new files? I know that this site doesn't get many, but there got to be some. Is the file uploading job is only done by one unfortunate person?

Hey, if rshotgun wants to do this, all I have to say is that he deserves mad props if he succeeds. It'd be an epic accomplishment, regardless of how utterly pointless it is.

Let me know when you get to mine. I personally loved editing MotS MP far more than JK, even if the audience wasn't nearly as large.

I liked MotS's SP actually better than JK's. And I had so many awesome games in Cargo Ship MP with there being teams of Imps vs Rebels. And that base area, so great...

Man seriously, you need to find a more constructive way to spend your time! Think of all you could accomplish...you should try to spend your time well not just "kill time".

And anyways, you should do Single Player. How are you going to rate MP levels without a bunch of people to test every single level with? It's unfair to rate only on asthetics, because gameplay is a huge factor in MP. So do SP since there are alot less, you can play them by yourself, and they are way way funner...also, do JK SP because I have a level in there :p

Yeah and since half of the SP levels are amazingly simplistic, it won't be hard to beat many of them quickly!

That's a persuasive arguement, SP WOULD be easier... I dunno, I'll figure it out.

Yeah, there should be more people helping out. I don't think the work should be laid on for poor DS.

It's a cool idea. I started editing MotS levels a loooooooooong time ago, although I never released any. I havent had JK or MotS installed for probably over 2 years.
