Where to start?

All the places I used to cruise aren't there anymore, save this place.

I suppose I'd REALLY like to get into modeling/animating/leveling..

So what is it that the kids model with today?

Blender, learn to use, learn to abuse. Great program.

All the top class programs such as 3DSmax and things are better though.

I don't know why you'd want to map for JK though, it looks unnecessarily difficult. Gtkradient is fairly easy to learn from scratch... like building lego.

  do her}

Blender > *

There's about a billion features I don't even know about, I'm sure. Because I never stop learning new ones. And of course, they never stop implementing new ones either. A number of people have switched from more expensive software like Maya or 3D Studio and have liked blender and found it's interface to be quicker. Of course, that's after you learn it.

However, I dislike Blender's game engine.

Don't worry guys... he can't possibly start editing JK after all that **** he said about it being out of date, not fun, and/or whatever else...

this has gotta be for something else... ;)
May the mass times acceleration be with you.

I USED to edit JK, I was okay at making levels, and fairly basic models.

And yeah, it is outdated.

I was thinking more HL2, maybe I can set up the editor this time and not have it self-destruct.

Maya, and Blender will be downloaded shortly.

I'd suggest Unreal 2k4 or Q3, since they're the most well documented while still being full of potential.

Odd . . . I thought JED was 1000x easier than Radiant. I just understand sector engine editing better I guess.

If Jed did brushes, I'd use Jed. :P

But it doesn't.

Maya seems pretty easy to figure out so far, still need to get blender.

HL2 also has SoftimageXSI, I might try that.
