OH YES BABY. I ... can't believe how fast this is compared to dial-up. It's surreal downloading huge files in so little time. And the classy music in the background, provided by boko, just tops it all off.

Yay, finally got broadband. BYE BYE 56k. Post feelings. :)

Yeah, I was, but the feeling faded very quickly. Now my cable connection even seems slow. ;)

I just downloaded 195mb, that rocks. That'd taken several days/weeks on 56k.

Maybe this feeling should be called "Cable High." A state of euphoria when you can now access new worlds and levels of internet sites and gaming. After awhile, you will lose that feeling and demand faster speeds. Then you hook up with "T1 High," some serious stuff, and life turns meaningless in front of the computer.

Actually, his download speed is faster than T1. T1 = 1.5Mbps.

Now a T3 high would make more sense.

Right now I'm at about 1 Mbps... which is pretty normal for the wireless connection. But in five days I'll be back at school, regularily getting 10 Mbps connection speeds.

Yes, but are you out in the middle of nowhere? The line-of-sight from my dish to the tower goes right through a forest... maybe if I cut down some branches I'd get a faster connection.... hmmm... *revs up chainsaw* :p

I'm on 1mbps I think.

Wireless download speeds are coming in at an average of about 125kb/sec. Happy.

I've got 384k. :(

My church gets 10Mbps. Which rocks. But my church isn't me. So that sucks.

But I still get to use it. Which rocks. But they won't let me hook my external HD up anymore. Which sucks.

So overall, I guess it balances out.

My Cable internet is supposed to be 3 Mbps, but I think that's pretty widely distributed, so I doubt that I actually get anywhere close to that speed.

I demand a dual OC-38 connection. Hell, just hook the internet straight into my veins.

A fiber optic T1 would get you 1.5 Mbps up and down simultaineously however. Browsing would be significantly faster, as would gaming. The reliability and robustness of the T1 standard would also make a huge difference. You probably knew that but I was just pointing it out anway.

I'm on 1MPBS, and it serves me just fine.

We get 6mbps for our cable. I can pull those speeds out too if I use getright, but normally the download's done by the time I hit that speed. I've had very well seeded torrents downoad at around 6mbps too. :p

That's because it's hong kong. That's like saying "Where I live in South Korea, we get an OC-100 connection for free". It's just implied.

Browsing wouldn't be any faster... Unless you have an upload speed of like 5KB/s, it's not going to make a world of difference there. Gaming, yeah it would.

Also, I specifically said "download" speeds are faster, so get off my case :p
