Cadbury's vs. Hershey's - Who Wins?

So which chocolate is better of these two for you? I personally find Cadbury's to have a much greater range of variety and flavor than Hershey's, which I find to be good but somewhat over-rated.

For those who don't know:

Quote:
Cadbury Schweppes plc (Cadbury Trebor Bassett), NYSE: CSG is a confectionery and beverage company with its headquarters in London.

Quote:
The Hershey Company NYSE: HSY, formerly Hershey Foods Corporation (name changed in April 2005), commonly called Hershey's, is the world's largest chocolate company. The headquarters are located in Hershey, Pennsylvania, a town permeated by the aroma of cocoa (on certain days). It was founded by Milton S. Hershey in 1894 as the Hershey Chocolate Company, a subsidiary of his Lancaster Caramel Company. Hershey's candies are sold worldwide.

Also, post your favorite candy produced by each:

For me, Cadbury Cream Eggs equate to a slice of heaven.

Peppermint patties aren't bad either, I love the minty taste.

Hershey. Cadbury is poop compared to the awesomeness that is Hershey.

Cradbury is mostly crap. So I voted Hersheys, even though we dont get Hersheys out here.

Who makes those peanut butter cup things? They were goooood, the 2 times I'v ever had them.

I love how you people can't even bother to sum up your feelings on Cadbury's with words other than "crap" and "poop", I MEAN SHEESH you don't have to be complete philistines about it! :p

Seriously, how can a Hershey's bar possibly be better than Cadbury's Eggs? I can understand if they are, but poop and crap aren't valid adjectives! Please, elaborate!

Good chocolate should be smooth and creamy, Cadbury can be harsh and floury.

Neither. Both companies produce some pretty rancid chocolate, although Cadbury's isn't bad if you get it straight from the source.

I'm not really one for milk chocolate. I prefer mine dark.

Cadbury's Flakes are good though.

Fazer's Blue is the best.
If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.

My sister spent a lot of time up in England as a nanny. She took on many odd jobs and got all sorts of different training, one of them was cooking.
The cook there suggested cadburys chocolate as the tastiest for cooking. She also said Australian cadbury's was the very best.

I only voted Cadbury for their cool tv commercials. I don't really like either brand that much. I don't eat much chocolate, but there's a store downtown that sells some decent fudge and other things they make themselves.

I haven't really eaten very much of Cadbury's, so naturally I go with Hershey.

On the other hand, Sarris is usually better than Hershey's.

I said of the two companies, so neither was not an option :p

Wow that Sarris stuff looks pretty good, albeit expensive. Reminds me of JK for some odd reason! :p

Hershey, because cadbury's stuff in america is different from over here. Made from different ingredients. The Aussie version of dairy milk is different too. Vegetable oil instead of milk or something.

On this side of the pond though Cadbury's beats hershey because I'm not that keen on chocolate that breaks down to it's basic ingredients when you put it in your mouth.
nope.

For pure chocolate, hershey's. For various fun things, Cadbury.

I voted hershey's. Favorite chocolate treat? Either snickers, crunchie, or crispy crunch (peanut butter)

Yeah, you should've put an "I can't decide" option. I have pretty low extremes once it comes to chocolate. Once the good taste of chocolate goes past my extreme, I can't tell which is better (ONLY exception is real Belgian chocolate, made in the country herself).

Neither. Most American chocolate companies produce crap next to any decent European company or even "gourmet" American companies like Godiva (who just outsource anyway).

That's because that's what the majority of Americans prefer Emon. Which is why you can get the same brand of chocolate from 3 different countries and they won't taste anything alike.
The recipe changes drastically based on what they think the locals prefer.

Maybe in Europe, but in the US I'm more inclined to think chocolate is just controlled by huge corporations. Anyone who has tasted even half decent chocolate would prefer it over big name marketed brands.

No..it's cheaper and easier to manufacture crappy chocolate as opposed to gourmet chocolate. Pretty simple.

I dunno about Cadbury's (never had one before) but you realize how low quality Hershey's chocolate is once you taste REAL chocolate.

Thus, I vote Wilbur's.

Yes, this is true. Of course, you don't know something's good until you have something to compare it to, which is why those Americans who don't have any concept of other countries and the fact that some of them are actually quite organized, are led to believe Hershey's is the best of the best. >_>

I agree on the Belgian chocolate being the best though. The 2 best things in the world are made the best in Belgium: Chocolate and Beer.

That wouldn't explain why the taste of chocolate is so different between any two given countries.

I think it's fairly obvious. Americans will eat anything that they think they're getting a deal on even if it's of lower quality. I mean, I normally would but I'm an enlightened liberal, obviously.
