Gebohq and I were talking about life, physics, politics and something else that's equally intelligent when he suddenly asked "What is an a**hat?" I told him I'd ask you guys...what do you think?

In all fairness, it wasn't completely random -- SAJN was refering to some random buddy of his as an a**hat.

In all fairness I think SAJN might have just picked that up from chatting with me. I say it alot. No clue where I picked it up from, but I remember SAJN acting confused the first time I used it in conversation.

I doubt it's where the term originated, a**hat is thrown around Fark.com a lot. It worked its way into my vocabulary from there.

I read somewhere that it's a metaphor for having one's head up one's colon (which is of course itself a metaphor). If your head is up your ***, then your *** can be considered a hat. Thus, "******".

Made sense to me.
