Burn DVD's on a mac?
2005-09-05, 2:13 PM #1
Ok, I'm looking to take mpeg and avi files and convert them so I can burn them using iDVD. I've tried X-Ray 4, but the picture gets screwed up and the audio is sometimes fuzzy...Thoughts? Suggestions? Comments?

Dont call Apple. Their reply for this will be "The media is bad. Re-record everything from scratch."

Try another program?

Don't call temperamental, his reply will be;

"Porn is the bane of all human existence. You shouldn't be trying to duplicate evil. PS, stop spending so much time on the computer, nerd."

Don't call Rob, his reply will be "shut up, you suck."

:p

That said, I don't know the answer to your mysterious problem.

Thats right Rob, it would be my exact reply. The same statement goes to you as well.

Pffft.

You know darn well my reply would be "STFU RTFM NOOB."

Get it right.

Thats actually some of the replies some people get at apple..Only worded in a nicer way witht he same meaning.

I actually called apple and they gave me a similar response.

Try again, this time don't mention burning. Just say you're converting/compressing video. If THEY bring it up, make sure they understand that has nothing to do with it. Cause it doesn't.

That IS your problem, right? That's what I inferred from reading it.

Mega, it doesnt matter. They will tell you the media you are attempting to use is corrupt to a degree and that's all you will get.

Apple tells you the same answer with anything other than THEIR media. If it was compressing a video file built into his OS, then yeah, they would help. Anything else, it's basically "sorry, but **** off. "

Use Toast much better than iDVD

If you get really stuck there are other free programs available but i only use DVD Studio Pro 3.

But toast will allow you to just import video and burn it onto a DVD .

you tried putting the videos into iMovie and then into iDVD??

Yeah, for what you're doing Toast will work better than iDVD... I don't even think iDVD is MADE for doing that... but I might be wrong. I've never needed to try.
