Where do you hang out?
2005-09-06, 7:58 PM #1
Just wondering if hang out areas are different for all the different places us ians live.

Here everyone either are either mall rats or go to the Pool Hall. I also am part of a small group that goes to a private resort because we work there.

Like I can go to either the mall or the Pool Hall and be garenteed to know at least a couple people I know and do somethin.

I'm going to a small town now for my new school so I'm kinda wondering what there is to do there/where everyone goes. So it just got me thinking of hang out places.

Pub. The local near work. They have a pool table and a nice outdoor beer garden.

My friends basement, my basement, my other friends basement, my other other friends basement.
Think while it's still legal.

Either the basement or my car....sometimes we end up at the local Denny's. Another gathering spot is my room (which is has two doors and is convientently the middle room.)

Home. Bring friends. Why waste gas, time and comfort going somewhere else? (unless of course you are going to another friends house). Who actually "hangs out"? I don't go to the park to hang out. I grab a frisbee with intention to do something.

Well, I really haven't done much hanging out since school started up, but I imagine I'll probably end up in my friend's dorm quite a bit. During high school, we'd always frequent the mall arcade, Hastings, Wal-Mart, and whoever's basement was most convenient at the time. Also, cruising through town with six people crammed in a Firebird blaring Yellow Submarine is quite entertaining, if a little uncomfortable.

Friend's basement, another friend's apartment. Bout it. Been hanging out at the first friend's basement since I was...oh...five. It's a classic spot anymore.

I hang out at my house a lot. We have a pool table, ping pong table, hot tub, and so on. There's also a brewery about a 15 minute walk from my house. THey have really good beer with an awesome patio outside. There's also a really nice bar that a 10 minute frive from my place. They have a good selection of beer, pool, darts, and board games. It doesn't have the stupid collge crowd because you have to drive there.

No where really.

Used to hang out alot in the nearby graveyard, because it's HUGE, quiet, theres plenty of shade, and nobody ever goes in there.

Tis a good place.

I hang out (if I have money) at Sports Rock-Climbing Walls, sometimes a bar called "Roots", or a bar called "Channies", when i'm with me mate Alex I go to "Cafe Nero" for chocolate Tea and cigarettes.

Apart from that, I just sit in front of a computer and deny the existence of my friends and family

My friend's basement. THere's a TV with a DVD player, a couch, a carpet to practice skating on, a bunch of skate tools, and a pull-up bar. All you need, really.

When we're not there, we're out skating at our local spots (the school or the market place nearby).

Sad but true. :(

When I'm not online, I go bowling or go to the movies or go to Denny's or go to Walmart or go to Target or go to QT or go to McDonald's.

Hah, the night of graduation, my friends and I went to Walmart and hung out where they had a bunch of chairs set up.

The funny part is that we ran into other people who were also hanging out at Walmart after graduation. :p

Hanging out at wallmart is a lot more usual than you might think. On any given day, we can all go to wallmart to pick up, say, batteries. We get there and see another group of friends there to pick up, say, a case of pop. We then run rampant through Wallyworld.

But those aren't my usual hang out spots. I find myself wandering downtown, and always run into a poet or two hanging out at a busstop, so we grab coffee at one of the 3 or 4 coffee joints around town. I'm always, at least 3 or 4 times a month, hanging out in pizza luces. You can also find me at the ice rink watching my lady skate, the highschool when it's supposed to be closed, and last but not least, I'm always hanging out at the photoshop, chitchatting with the cute asian there, and helping customers even though I don't even work there. [I'm going to ask if they'll pay me next time I'm there.]

We usually hang out in my one friend's basement, he's got a pretty awesome setup- two computers, one a media PC connected to a flatscreen TV with surround sound, a couple blacklights, etc. If not there, we'll go to Denny's.

In a small town, a lot of times you end up eithe rhanging out at a friend's house, or you just go out to do something and keep running into people. Go to get a drink at Quiktrip, see someone you know, stand there talking for a while, someone else walks in, they join up. Maybe then everyone decides to do something, maybe they go back to the house...whatever. Same thing with wal-mart. I ended up hanging out in front of wal-mart all the time ebcause I'd be there witha friend doing something and on the way out or in we'd see another group. Benefits of a small town.

Here at college...well, ask me in 3 years when I actually have some friends.

That's seriously like... awesome fun. Only we'll drive around blaring outrageous things with all the windows rolled down while trying to look as slick and cool as possible.

IE: The Indiana Jones theme, The Hampster Dance, any number of Beatles tunes, some of the silly SoaD songs (Chic N' Stu comes to mind)... We've driven around blaring the main theme from Hitman Contracts and Halo's main theme. Basically, if it's silly, or not music you'd normally expect to hear from a car at a stop light, we'll play it.

As for hangouts... more often than not recently it's been my house. Probably because I have food, the three TVs needed for Xbox System Link fun, and because I essentially live the same distance from everyone else.
