I would, if I lived in CA.

I worship Terry Pratchett. :(
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

I would, but I live 2000 miles away. Plus I hate him.

Awesome. I wish I could come.

-I've got a hold on thud at the library. Can't wait to read it. Anybody read Last Hero? I had been reading all this lame serious stuff before reading it and it was just such a refreshing change, especially the catch-22 reference.

I would, living only a few miles away, but I've never read any of his books.

I would if I lived closer. I love the Discworld books. Small Gods is by far one of my favorites.

Eww, you Americans get ugly versions of all the book covers. Being British rocks.

I have a few of my books signed by Pratchett, photo taken with him, and he talked to us for about 5 minutes about what would be in the next book (this was a signing for The Truth, so he was telling us about Thief of Time).

Crap, I went yesterday and it was the wrong day. So I saw Bret Easton Ellis instead >.<

And he read about having sex with people.

Terry Pratchett is coming TODAY and I don't think I can go. :(

Wow, you're right. I guess Aussies get the british covers.
I wish I could go, Pratchett is my idol. He manages to spin fascinating tales whilst keeping good humour.

I've met him before. He's awesome.

He was at a local library a little while ago when he released err... "The Wee Free Men" I think it was called. I've got a photo floating around somewhere.
nope.

I hate how Pratchett doesn't ever have any Chapter Breaks. It makes him excrutiatingly difficult to read.

I disagree. It flows pretty well.

I never stop reading at the end of chapters anyway, because authors always put cliffhangers at them.

Anyway, at least one Pratchett novel uses chapters.

This I can agree with, if only because it makes it really hard to discipline myself when it comes to getting enough sleep. >.<

The Amazing Maurice did, so did the Wee Free Men. I think that Reaper Man did too.
nope.

Yeah, I've never had any trouble reading them. The lack of chapters just makes it even harder to stop reading.

Color of Magic is devided into four "novellas". These funtion chapter-esquely.
Pyramids is divided into four "books". These aren't particularly chaptery.
The young adult books (Wee Free Men, Amazing Maurice, Hat Full of Sky) all have chapters.

-I just read Reaper Man a while back. I have now read every Discworld book before Thud. Can't wait.

I'm really excited. He's gonna be at the Barnes & Noble here in New Haven on Friday, so I'm going to get to go. Unfortunately his talk starts right as my physics class ends, so I have to get there instantaneously somehow (by which I really mean skip physics), but it's all good...

Go to physics - Find out how to defy their laws - then go instantaneously to the thing.
