Have you had after school or saturday detention any time?
2005-09-09, 3:23 AM #2
Nope, never. Wootehwoo for knowing how to get away with stuff.
2005-09-09, 3:24 AM #3
no, because i have a feeling that it is illegal for teachers to hold back students especialy as a parent needs to give permission for a minor to be at school at a non school time.

I've had a few lunch detentions in my time. I probably didn't deserve a few of them though, I was framed!!!!

I got a detention once in 6th grade because I didn't have a pencil in class. That teacher sucked.

Also I was supposed to have a semi-detention once because I found a way to create new accounts on the school computers (though technically that wasn't breaking any of the rules set forth in the student handbook. :p)

I got a detention for being late because there was an accident and the busses stopped running. So everyone on the bus that finally came got detention, then the bus company called the school and notified them of the accident. For some reason they let everyone who came later off, like they always would do, but they let the detentions they already gave out stand.

We only had to show up and sign in, then leave since it wasn't really our fault, but they didn't put the sign-in sheet out for at least 20 minutes, enough to miss the bus home and piss me off to this day.

A couple of times...

Usually for mucking around at lunchtime. For some reaon in middle school we wern't allowed inside during lunch break except to go to the library, toilet or a couple of study rooms. Anyway me & my friends always used to play hide & seek en masse. Like 25 of us... around the entire school. Unfortunatly the best hiding places were the places we weren't supposed to go. So i often ended up in detention for being in the wrong place :p The headmaster often had a room full of people at lunchtime doing lines. I occasionally ended up in there :( It was the same in high school. Always hanging out where we weren't supposed to be and getting moved along. Dont think i ever got detention there though.

I stand on my record though. I never got a detention for not doing work. Despite doing less than half of all homework throught my school career :P It's so easy to talk your way out of. Teachers don't like sitting in at lunch or after school either. Tell them you'll bring it tommorow then avoid them for the rest of the week ;)

5 Saturday Schools in Junior High, 3 Saturday Schools in High school. I didn't keep count of how many times I had detention but it was at least a couple times. Reasons for all these? I was late too much :p

Actually, I think it is illegal for teachers tohold their students in detention after 4:00 since that's theofficial law-binding end time for school, and saturdays are definately illegal. It's not even a school day.

I've been suspended once for fighting. And detention once. For fighting.

I was vicious in my youth.

Once in middle school for being a minute late for getting an admit. My mom said that I deserved it because it would teach me responsiblity (I may note here that she was the one driving.) Meh...got a lot of homework done that day.

Nope. I was issued an after-school detention once, but I decided not to serve it and no one ever noticed.

In middle school my English teacher would always yell at me for leaning back in my chair (balancing it on two legs), and warned me that if I did it again she would give me a detention. One month of warnings later, she actually gave me a detention...

The best bit was that detention was with a different teacher, so while sitting in detention... I was leaning back in my chair :D

I've not had an after school detention since year 2, when my teacher kept in the entire class for talking during the start of a singing practice. But that teacher was ridiculously strict.

There may have been times in middle school where I was close, but I've never gotten one in either middle or high school.

I also got a detention in 8th grade once for not doing my math homework.

Other than that, no.

I never, ever got into trouble in elementary.

Maybe once, maybe, for kicking the crap out of a kid.

However, Middle School is another story.

Best part was when the Assitant Principal was talking about name calling and me and another friend slapped the person next to us (Luckily our friends so they understood).

Got two days of detention for that.

One of them I skipped.

I've been talked to by teachers too, my Life Science teacher being the most crazy ***** ever.

It's three weeks into school, and I already have some stories I could tell you about her.

Yeah, one time I got an F in shop, so of course I was going to kill myself. The flare gun I was going to use went off in my locker and I got detention for it all of Saturday. There were some other people there that alternated mocking me and bonding with eachother and I ended up having to write everyone's detention paper assignment.

But the music was ok and we got high at some point, so it was alright. It seemed like everyone in detention ended up in a relationship but me, which kind of sucks. I guess I could make myself a girlfriend out of a barbie doll, a chemistry set and a picture of Einstein.
