Kirby's Rebirth Meeting
2005-09-10, 5:30 PM #1
Just wanted everyone to know that Kirby's Rebirth meeting started ( Meeting started at 9PM EST / 8PM CST ) if anyone's interested. Note that you will be muted (unless you're on the team) during the meeting, but it is an excellent oppurtunity to find out more about the project. Teh kirbs ask that you do not change your name or leave/join often...but I think MZZT has that covered to with +uN.

There will be a general public question time at the end for all questions not answered by the team.

Channel is #JKR on irc.holonet.org, or you can go to the chat page and type /join #JKR (For those lurkers who don't have a client).

If you however missed the meeting, ZeqMacaw is logging it and you can check it out later at the Hub.

Security is too tight here at work. Guess I'll just have to catch a log. :(

Zeq's logging it. I'm trying to ruin Kirb's logs.

Tee hee.

I do believe the greatest lines during the meeting were:

CoolMatty: there needs to be a rebirth version of JHS
halucid: NO JHS
SM_DjDTM: A rebirhted version of JHS?
JediKirby: I don't even think Team Rebirth could make that level good.
halucid: JHS is a banned subject here
Xzero: JHS is overrated. We don't need a rebirth one.
SM_DjDTM: I'm sure some one in the community would do that.
CoolMatty: what, you could easily explain all the traps in that
halucid: the fact that it has more than 10 download amazes me
JediKirby: Halucid and I both really hate JHS
Jon`C: Sith 2 will be designed specifically to delete itself if you attempt to play a level called "Jedi High School"

Yes.

Why does everyone hate JSH? The textures weren't good, but it was interesting, which is more than I can say for a lot of levels out there that had really good "OMQ 16bit bit textures*

JHS is so much fun to play. All the little secrets, and places to hide..It's a great level.
Think while it's still legal.

Ok, lets jump behind the elevator shaft, o cool, it's an arsenal of railcharges, and a concrifle!!!1 no other levels have anything on this!!!21

"I wonder to myself. Why? Simply why? Why why? Why do I ask why? Why do I need to find out why? Why do I have to ask why as a question? Why is why always used to find out why? Why is the answer to why always why? Why is there no final answer to why? Simply why not? Holy cow, this is pretty deep, meaningful **** I wrote. Glad I wrote it down. Oh man."

rofl!!! Haha, I hate JHS too, always have.

I never understood its popularity on zone. I hate the fact that it's still taking up place in my episode just because the dedicated server hosts it, so I won't be able to join the game if it isn't there. *mutters*

Like always , people hate on the popular things...It's not that good of a level at all but for it to succeed like it did there must have been some reason. It had the element of gameplay, and maybe all the traps and weapons were overdone, but thats the point. You don't have to take it so seriously - its a level.

The level was just.... dumb. Way too big for any REAL gameplay, only fun with a slew of mods, and really, there were so many other levels that did those things BETTER. It really just isn't at all the best of what it offers. It seems to me people just liked it because it was the best for it's time, and people just haven't tried anything better since.

I always enjoyed playing JHS and ENC for laughs. It was great instant goof-off material. Even though the gameplay was unbalanced, there were quite a few veteran tricks that evened things out for those who were really into the map (sliding down the wall from the roof and losing no damage for instance).

Organizing an internet chat on a Saturday night. Brilliant. You should be a program coordinator.

The team all decided on a night they were all available. We just so happened to be busy the rest of the week. It wasn't set at a time convenient for anyone but our team.
