I think your only choice is to go buy it seperately. I believe it's sold in most computer stores, I would guess at a price around $200-250. Next time be more careful before deleting any of the very expensive, high quality applications that come in the Windows package. You're really getting a good deal and saving alot of money when you take advantage of them.

Well, any program that I used with Notepad before seems to try to find the Notepad program (but no luck). Maybe I changed the location of my Notepad without knowing.

2000 and XP should protect it with Windows File Protection, so it should come back after a reboot. I'm guessing the shortcut is just lost. It should be located at %windir%\notepad.exe or go to C:\I386\ and copy notepad.ex_ and rename it to notepad.exe and it where you want it.

Or just download it off Kazaa. If you have a windows OS currently running on your PC, it's not illegal.
