Is there some debate over whether or not a plane hit the pentagon? I've always thought that it was common, unquestioned knowledge that yes 3 plans hit buildings and one crashed in pennsylvania, etc.

But, apparently there's some controversy/conspiracy over whether or not it did happen?

I for one (and I don't know if I imagined this or not) am almost SURE that that afternoon, on the CNN news, I saw footage of a plane careening towards the Pentagon, rotate and smash into it. However, later that evening, I rewinded the tape in the VCR (we'd been recording stuff) and I couldn't find that footage .. and since then I've never seen it again, or heard about it

am I just confusing myself? Bah. I'm pretty not informed about this.

It's common knowledge that the Right concocted 9/11 to push the Republican Agenda on the moderate American masses.

It wasn't a plane that hit the Pentagon. It was a missile launched directly from Bush's personal popemobile.

My uncle was just outside the Pentagon at the time (since he works there). From what I remember of him saying about it, he heard someone screaming, then an explosion, then he turned and saw the Pentagon on fire.

Someone around here... I can't remember who... has a signature that claims that the pentagon wasn't hit by a plane. Then of course it just says "google it", which was discussed extensively in another thread, and (I think) agreed to be a very poor method of proving a point.

Putting the claim in his signature is also a very convenient method of repeating a point while avoiding debate. No one's going to hijack a completely unrelated thread just to argue with his sig.

The funny thing is, his claim that the Pentagon was not hit by a Boeing 767 is correct... it was actually hit by a Boeing 757-200.

The theories out there aren't that plane's didn't hit the pentagon and WTC's.

The theories are centred around two explanations:

1. The US government knew about the attacks beforehand, and did nothing to prevent them

2. The US government had a hand in perpetrating the attacks, either directly or indirectly.

I saw the pentagon partially collapsed on british news channel, with the remains of a plane on the edge.
