Anyone know the name of the company that the US national guard get the helicopters from? And what chopper it is?
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

Actually I think they are CH-47's and blackhawks being used in the relief effort.

Yeah my guess would be Blackhawks and Chinooks.

Yeah, Guard has practically the same rotary-wing line-up as the active forces, just older. There isn't a single Guard helo, you need to be more specific.

The Blackhawk is the workhorse chopper used by the Army these days. The Army Reserve flies these as well, so I imagine the Guard would as well. They could fly older stuff as well.

Google UH60 Blackhawk, AH64 Apache, and CH47 Chinook. Made by Sikorsky, McDonnel Douglas, and Boeing, respectively.

You might also look up OH58, MH6, UH1, and AH1. At least the OH58 should be in use with the Guard and possibly some of the others as well as the ones I listed above.

Actually, the Apache is now considered a Boeing product, as McDonnel Douglas was bought by them.

Yes, many aircraft end up being the product of different companies in that fashion.

I just chose the CH-47 for the project in my economics class. Thanks.
