My Grandfather Passed Away...

Well, it's inevitable to have this happen to me. He died because of post-surgery on his aneurism (SP?) last Saturday. We had to go up to St. Louis (Large Missouri city) to get the operation, so we had to go there about every chance we could to see him, despite it's three hour drive there (We live in Springfield, Missouri). He recovered slowly at first, for about three months, and then he got really better. My family wanted to bring him back to where our home is, where our Grandmother could be closer to her home. She started getting sick because she wasn't at home where she can go play golf, walk, and do other things to keep her active. All of us got our hopes up...

Anyways, his death was a huge blow to us. He seemed to be doing so well in the recovery process at the end, we hoped to get him home by Monday. Then he got pneumonia. His blood pressure droped; and they decided to give him a pill so he can rest. He died soon afterwards.

Our family is making arrangements still, all the way from last Saturday night when we first sent out word to more of our family. As you can see, our family is huge...I literally seen them call back to back from 9:00 AM to 6:00 last Sunday, and I know they're still not done. He was a sports journalist for our newspaper here (big time popularity), and loved doing his job...always determind to do it. He trained many of the known Sports writing community as we know it today here in Springfield, and will be greatly missed by us all, including his grandson.

He has his own huge artical on the Newspaper he worked for (huge deal), and all of the news stations here have done a report on it today. I was actually quite suprised by his popularity. Families after families have visited Grandmother's house, which is where we all gather, bringing food mostly (and good food I might add).

Anyways, nothing else anyone can do now. I just wanted to tell you that I might be away from the forums and chat for a while. Oh, and please post remeberances of your ancestors.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss.

I know we don't know eachother beyond our screen-names, I'm always around somewhere if you need to talk.

Didn't know you lived in Springfield though.

If you don't mind my asking, what part of STL Did you visit, if you remember? Or possibly at least just the hospital? Thought I'd see at least how close you were to where I'm at (Florissant)

again, I'm sorry for your loss.

best wishes to you and your family.

I visited Missouri Babtist Church or something. On Ballas street. I don't know it's geography well, so thats all I can tell you.

Thank you all for your support. :)
