Well I'm starting to plan now since I have kind of an extremely hectic schedual and transportation to the wack kind of places that would have the stuff I need besides going on ebay is probably only available once a week if at all.


I'm thinking one of the four:
Frank from Donnie Darko. Almost did this last year, cheaped out.
Might do a Captian Morgan...
Reno 911/Super Troopers character
Hunter S. Thompson

What ya think I should go with? I really want to do Donnie Darko, but I'm sure it wouldn't have a "cool" factor as the other three... which is another reason I skipped it last year.

Hunter S. Thompson is the easiet to pull off in the look. If you do that, make sure you watch Fear and Loathing to get the mannerisms and speech stuff down. That really makes the costume.

If I did him I'd be so tempted to blow like a couple hundred on ... assessories.... so I could be full in character... hrm that might be a bad idea..

if i had money i'd do a Russian soldier from WW2 (ya know since i already have the rifle)

but i'm broke... so i'll end up using existing stuff and answer the door as JIM7

Im going as Darth Nihilus, have the mask already. I just need to build a lightsaber and get some robes.

My friends and I are doing the Star Wars things, with my friends going as Jedi (custom lightsabers and all). Gonna throw a party that night too.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

Any army surplus stores around your place? Depending on the place (even if they have the stuff available) you can pick up some old crap that would be fine for one day pretty cheap.

army surplus is great if you want to go as a soldier from [insert very recent time period here]... WW2 stuff is not easy to find at a place like that especially russian... and if i'm gonna buy it i'll use it more than once

Personally, I'm considering going as Arthur Dent. It might be simple, but I think it could be fun.

Lol, you can get Mosin Nagants for like.. $95 at Fleet Farm.

I'd really want to go as a Fremen, but I would have to make a stillsuit and get some sclera lenses. And those are over $100.

Master Chief, from Halo 1 (not halo 2). The dual battle rifles wouldn't look as cool as the original.

If you don't have the money to buy a Master Chief outfit, you can make one from some paint and a few reams of "friendly" plastic.

So... when you people dress up for Halloween... what exactly do you do? Surely you're all too old to be trick or treating? Do you just post in costume?
