Well folks,
i have been in college for over a week now and i must say it has been quite amazing. I go to Endicott College, a small college located in my hometown, Beverly,MA. I have been dorming here and i love it. The parties, the girls, the craziness is all amazing. I am playing baseball here which is also fun because i get to play everyday. It's friday and i plan on getting obliterated tonight. Post your thoughts on college.

Dorms suck. I love living off-campus. Host your own parties, store booze without worrying about getting busted. Share a bathroom with less than 21 guys.

i loved college. the classes, the city i moved to, the parties, the girls...

dorm parties were usually disappointing.
i had parties every weekend off campus. there would be people i didn't even know just walking in. people i didn't even know offering me gifts of 'praise' for hosting parties every friday and saturday night. i rarely had to buy beer or tequilla.

Funny, we do all that in our dorm. And I get to live with just 9 of my best friends and no one else. So yeah...

I'm having a BLAST at college - my first year here at MBC, the no guys thing sucks, but we can always find them when we want them

I liked college a lot at first, but now after 3 years of it I just want it to be over.

i'm moving to hudersfield university tomorrow, staying in the halls there, should be fun :D

I wasn't too keen. Living off campus rocks. I have to say the only thing I like about college are the classes. I don't really like the people, or parties, or drinking really...

I had a roommate the last two years. This year I have my own room. It's smaller, but I like it better.

I've been at University of Texas at Dallas for about 5 weeks now, I think. I'm having a decent time. It always takes me a while to get in on all the friends and fun stuff going on, but it looks like there's a decent amount. It sucks though because I feel like it makes the most sense for me to transfer schools at semester due to a change of Major that I'm planning, so I'll have to start over.

Anyone else already thinking of changing majors...?

Aye. Living in the dorms is certainly an experience everyone should have for a year, I think, but there's a whole llot more freedom when you move out of school housing. We're having a party Saturday night, so much fun will be had by me.

I'd say that totally depends on the school and the quality of the housing and on-campus experience.

We're definitely out of the norm here at Vandy, with 85% of undergrads living on-campus. Very few people ever plan on moving off-campus here, and most everyone is quite happy with living here. It's nice not having to commute any at all to get to class either. Just about anything you could need within reasonable walking distance too, or you can always drive if you absolutely have to. The benefits of being stuck right in the middle of a city (ok, not really right in the middle, but close enough).

It's ok. I have more friends at other universities (or just not in school) than I do at school, so it's not really a big part of my social life right now. I just want to get it over with.

First week of university was pretty smooth. It seems like it would remain fun if there was no work. A week and still no assignments to work on = lol :D

I live at home though, so I don't have the freedom of living away from parents. Kinda sucks. I think I'd like a dorm a helluva lot more, though I'm not familiar with their restrictions.

Tis nice staying in on-campus apartments made for the '96 olympics. :D

Yep, college is just so much better than high school in every way. Well, actually the tests are a lot harder and you have to do your own laundry.

Pfft, as soon as I could reach the buttons on the washer and dryer, my parents made me do my own laundry.

Also, live on campus your first year, meet a **** load of people, and head off campus ad you wont look back.

I didn't realize laundry was such a pivotal thing. I didn't do my own laundry until I went to college, and my whites are still white, and my coloreds are still coloreds.

But, then, I was always taught it was best to keep the whites separate from the coloreds.

You DO live in missouri.

But yeah, laundry is something you can **** up rather easily if you don't know what you're doing.

I knew some people who didn't know how to use the washing machine. These are the same people who don't know how to scramble eggs, and leave their plates lying around because mommy did it for them when they lived at home.

Laundry was more of an example. I was along the general lines of normal house things you should be able to do. I know people who couldnt iron if you handed them one.

I don't really know how to iron, either, outside of *squirt squirt* *smooooth lines, don't let it rest on one area for too long*

Or is that all there is to it? (I've never needed to iron before)

I didn't know how to cook, do washing, or iron before starting university. But I just read the instructions and all was good.

I've still never cooked an egg though, I think it's that I can never be bothered to buy them.

...I never did laundry until college, but I was taught how and it's all turned out nicely so far

and I know how to scramble eggs and I always do my dishes (it's just gross to have dirty dishes just lying around your room)

not always the same, I promise.

OOORRRR you can just stick it in the dryer for 2 minutes. That's what I do whenever I have something that's all wrinkled.

You can be as sarcastic as you want Wolfy, but there are people who go to college not knowing how to do these things, and wont learn or can't learn, and arent very self dependent, and its sad.
