And did Bond really need reinventing? The franchise seemed to be kicking along rather well. Even the video games have kicked booty.

Well it could be interesting taking it in a new direction because the last two were a bit bland. No Q is a bad thing, and it just won't seem like Bond without gadgets.

Here's hoping he has a cool car still.

Well since they're doing Casino Royale, they almost have to. To do otherwise would be rewriting the book to fit with the others, since CR was the first one.

But, if its Casino Royal set in the 50s-60s, and Bond is 28..ish, You can't get a younger Q to replace the great one

Nope, he didnt make an appearance until From Russia With Love, but since then it's been hard to imagine a Bond movie without him.

Part of what made James Bond cool was the gadgets. Look at all those kid's playsets for being a spy... it's an integral thing. And this isn't "re-inventing" bond anyway, this is using the casino royale bond. This guy is stupid and pretentious.

If there were no gadgets and no Q in the book, there shouldn't gadgets and Q in the movie.

Ahahah ya thrawn...The new bond...no flashy gadgets, but he has an LG camera flip phone with unlimited text messaging and up to 300 hours of weekend minutes with no roaming charges.

Pierce said in an interview a while ago that one phone call took him out of the running for Bond in the new movie.
