ok so this girl i know tells me to audition for the fall musical (grease)

so im like yeah ok ill go and if i feel okay with doing it, ill go up and try (never done show choir/drama/play/musical before)

so i get there, she fills out all my information and hands the sheet to the director and im like... great. so i had my monologue somewhat ready just in case (the paragraph about god at the end of fight club) and i have most of the nightmare before christmas memorised, so i sang the first half of jack's lament.

and i guess i did awesome. cause people wont shut up about it.

i kinda mentioned i'd rather have a more smart aleck-ey speaking role rather than a singing, solo kinda role... and...

i got the part of johnny casino, the lead vocals of the band that plays at the dance.

haha.

so whatever, most everyone's dissagreed with the guy's decision for danny (some people told me i should have been him... no way i would have accepted it)

but yeah, talk about your musical/play/show choir experiences.

AWESOME!

and it would take me forever to talk about my musical/play/etc...experience, I just have so much to say about it, so you don't want to get me started on it, but aww, man, definitely some good times.

In first grade I was Hansel in our school production of Hansel and Gretel!

The candy house had real candy on it but we weren't allowed to eat it because it was covered in glue. :(

I once played "King Pish Posh" , the lead role in the "Punctuation Proclamation"
I've never acted since :D
I think there were only 6 of us anyway, it only lasted 10 mins, so it was more of a skit than a play.
It was ok though... thankfully it was long enough ago that nobody mentions it to me now anyway.

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Sounds great!

I once sang in the Carmina Burana. I still don't have the video. :(

Congrats man!

Uhhhh, I designed the lighting for my school's Rock Eistedfodd team in 2001 and won an award for it. That's about it.

That's cool.

I was in a highschool production of "The King and I" once, when I was in grade five... my mom was the principal of the high school in question, and they needed a younger actor, so...

Our school did a Grease musical last year and it definitely blew, haha.

My old highschool is doing Grease this year... they practically begged me to come back to be in the pit band. Heh.
That painting was a gift, Todd. I'm taking it with me.

Yay for plays. We're about two weeks away from Midsummer Night's Dream. It's going to be so freaking awesome. I hadn't ever done a play in high school before (I'd done maybe one or two middle/elementary school musicals), or ever a serious play for that matter. Luckily for me, Midsummer Night's Dream is my most favoritist play ever, so I decided to try out and, like you, apparently did really well. I am now Puck which is, without question, the best role ever. Seriously. I'm having so much fun.

Back in sixth grade I got offered to do the innkeeper's solo in the Nativity play, but I passed it up to play Mary since that's what all the cool girls wanted. :em321: Meh...

In 4th grade I played a little simple acoustic solo on my guitar! It was the melody to Fly Away, and I messed up but I was so proud of my self! And the whole freakin audience of like 50 people got up and cheered for me when I finished. So cool. :)

Yes, when you're little, people cheer louder when you screw up. :p

My senior year of high school, we did Little Shop of Horrors. That was really fun, and I got to play Seymour (that's the lead role). And last year, our university choir participated in a production of Turandot. Personally, I prefer playing in the orchestra pit, as I am this year in Beauty and the Beast. It may be a Disney thing, but the music is really fun.

You guys did Little Shop? That's an awesome show! My friend'a dream role is Seymore.
