a little HL2 trivia

i know the brother of one of the graphic artists and 3d modellers of HL2 (tri nguyen at valve). i was at his wedding reception in ottawa this past weekend and he showed me alot of cool stuff his brother has done.
the guy i know is an ottawa police officer and anywhere you see the number v952, it's his badge number. you can see it on some of the vehicles and on one rifle.

Another fact.

If you extract the audio file for when Barney says stuff about Breen right before you go into the Citadel, he actually says the F word.

I don't think so. This looks smaller than the NPC gunships.

Did you guys play the game? Remember, for example, while running through the sewers with the resistance helping you, you had one of these shooting at you and you had to duck behind physics stuff and then sprint for more cover?

We did but I still think that the choppers in the game look bigger than the one in the picture.

combine assault rifle AKA that useless gun that's painfully inaccurate and does nowhere near enough damage and doesn't carry nearly enough ammo
eat right, exercise, die anyway

You'll have to be more specific; that describes nearly every gun in HL2.

no... there's

the pistol... really accurate but doesn't do enough damage to be too useful against anything larger than a headcrab

shotgun... best gun in the game

SMG... horribly inaccurate but does enough damage probably because of it's high firing rate

combine assault rifle... see above post

crossbow... horribly inaccurate "sniper weapon"

rocket launcher... never enough ammo

gravity gun... best toy in the game

did i miss anything?
eat right, exercise, die anyway
2005-09-20, 12:17 PM #23
Uh, the crossbow is totally accurate...at least in MP.

Crossbow is insanely accurate... wtf

Besides that, you forgot the revolver, which is the most powerful and accurate gun in the game.

ever try to use the thing at a distance? it arcs... it's a piss poor sniping weapon for long distance (which is the point of a sniper weapon)

2005-09-20, 12:22 PM #26
Oh right, the arcing. It's just supposed to make sniping harder, but I see your problem with it. Bullets should be falling off too, but they don't.

well obviously a bolt is going to drop off a lot sooner than a bullet.
