Favorite DooM levels! Woo yay etc.

With the finding of a mod that replaces the sprites in the game with 3d models, I've found myself to be playing through the game again.

I haven't played TNT or Plutonia all the way through yet, so I can't make a valid choice on those (I don't really enjoy them all that much either :\ )

For the original DooM, I have to go with e1m9: Warrens. It has the spiffy secret level music and has tons of enemies. Not so many that you die in the first few seconds apon seeing them (Ultra-Violence, the only way to play the game IMO), but enough to get you to run a lot, lest you be splattered by a stray rocket.

For DooM 2, I have to say Tricks and Traps, but I haven't played the game in a long time. That's for single player, of course. I think for Co-Op, I have to go with that one, with the island..thing. Cathedral was it? Oh well, I can't remember.

Doom 1? Hmm... Probably E1M8.

Doom 2? A toss up between Dead Simple (7), Barrels O' Fun (23), Icon of Sin (30) and Grosse (32).
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

In DOOM2 that one with the really thin, zig-zagging walkway over a bunch of lava with cacodemons attacking you. Not sure which levle that is.

DOOM 1: E1M1. One of my favourite levels, not only for the fact it had the most awesome music ever, but because of the fact that it was well layed out, going up the stairs to the armor and coming down to zombies.

Doom 2: Simple. One of my favourite levels because you got to fight an array of demons that didn't stop coming. Also because you could end it whenever you wanted.

Doom 3: Mars Underground: I loved that level because of the way it was setup.
Obviously, you knew something was going wrong, but you didn't know that it was going to go that way, what with all the demons from hell and all that.

Wait..what? Mod that makes them into models instead of sprites? WHERE IS THIS!?

DooM 1: E1 was so well done..can't choose a single level

DooM 2: Haven't played enough of it.
I had a blog. It sucked.

In Doom 3, I liked that one level where it was really dark and you had to find someone's PDA to open a door, and demons kept coming at you from closets and access panels.

Oh wait, that was the entire game.

hehehe. What's more funny is that same thing can be said for all the doom games... (minus the dark part and exchanging pda's with keys.).

Yeah. Doom games:

Start. Fight some enemies. Find a lock door. Go downstairs. Fight enemies. Get a colored key. Go back up the same way. Fight respawned eneimies. Unlock the door. Next level.

That's what was so fun about the game. A lot of things were like this back in the day. DooM pretty much started it for 3D stuff, then everyone else went 3D.

A game that did this that comes to the top of my head is Descent. Did Descent not TOTALLY ROCK?

DooM 3 isn't all that great. Didn't give me the feel of fighting hells army, just it's little force thing.

Oh, and if you haven't played DooM on Ultra-Violence, do so now. It's challenging to this day.

Doom 1: Can't think of any favorites.

Doom 2: Icon of Sin(30), Wolfenstein(31), Grosse(32)

Final Doom: Some kind of Egyptian Temple level in TNT.

Doom 3: No favorites.

Doom 3 RoE: Last level
No sig.
