UPS can bite me.

So I bought a guitar from drizzt. He lives in Texas and I live in Rhode Island. So he estimates shipping to be about $25 - $30, but he goes online and finds out that shipping is only around $18 for 2 day shipping and $15 for 5 day shipping. So we decide on 2 day shipping. He takes the guitar to UPS who tells him shipping is more like $40...WTF? He explains how on the website it said $18, but the UPS person says the website is always wrong and people usually get pretty pissed when they have to pay double what the site says....Really? Wow. Maybe they should you know...fix the site? Oh I forgot to mention...that $40 was for snail-mail, not 2 day shipping. So he ships it and today I get curious to see where my package is and when it should arrive...well take a look.

The shipping info got updated today. UPS still claims they are going to get that guitar to me by tommorow...but the last time the package was scanned in was on the 15th...IN TEXAS!

Maybe it's like the airports, where they mark the planes as on time until they're five hours late.

Maybe it's Rob.

Well, seeing as today is the 20th...
It took a while for you to find me; I was hiding in the lime tree.

I'm currenty tracking a package (33 lbs, but that doesn't really matter), and it just sat in Southern California for 5 days, and it finally moved on the sixth day. I don't know whats up with them lately, but UPS has seemed extremely slow (and expensive).

Don't give up hope. Maybe the website's wrong about the location too. I got something from UPS once and it said it was still at its starting location when it arrived in my mailbox. :p

I ordered my new motherboard, and it shipped on thursday. I selected 3 Day Shipping, and it isn't scheduled to get delivered till tomorrow.

FedEx > UPS

This is from Newegg too. I never had any problems when ordering them, but they now give you the option for 3 day UPS shipping for $3.50 cents. So this is definitley UPS being stupid, not Newegg.

I like FedEx a whole lot better than UPS, personally. They're a lot better about being up to dat with their information, in my experience. US mail is great for smaller stuff.
Pissed Off?

I've had so many problems with UPS. Packages being opened and contents stolen, packages lost because they fall behind canister, fragile packages arriving looking like an elephant went over them, then delivery dates being magically changed from Friday to Monday (which pisses me off to no end)

FedEx, I've never had a problem with.

But many places just don't have that option

I perfer FedEx overall, my only issue with them is that they will put on package on the truck to be delievered, but a few hours later it will say they took it back to headquarters because it wasn't scheduled for delievery yet.

DHL is okay, they sent me my repaired iPod.

I'll agree FedEx > UPS, but the one FedEx driver ran over part of a rock wall we have in our driveway that a big truck shouldn't really have troubles avoiding. Other than that I like FedEx much better.

I got the guitar >.> <.<

UPS still sucks. The box had like 3 holes and a bunch of dents in it. It's obvious the box was tossed around like a $2 whore.

Well you see... that box was a $2 whore :/.

I was walking on 7th avenue the other day and saw two FedEx trucks parked side by side. One guy was standing in the back of one truck passing boxes to the other guy on the street, who then leaned a little sideways and tossed them in a smooth swinging motion onto a pile in the back of the second truck. The boxes hit the wall and then tumbled onto the pile. One of the boxes even fell out of the truck after one unsuccessful toss.

Since I'm just having a camera fedexed to me, I'm pretty worried.

The Hurricane has EVERYTHING screwed up, and I do mean everything. Fed Ex is hella screwed over here. They got the bulk of the stuff from katrina affected areas for whatever reason.

Theres a strong possibility your package wasn't scanned when it left Texas. Happens during crunch time. Especially when people ship things that are hard to load.

Even then. **** happens. Happens to every service. Get over it. Or file a claim.

Also, if you picked ground shipping... thats basically "whenever" shipping, because unless it has to leave this continent its being trucked all the way to where its going.
