A teachers daughter got murdered.

The culinary teacher at my school was out today, and come to find out he was at the funeral of his own daughter. :( This guy is a great teacher and an overall great person, and I'm sure his daughter was as well. This is just horrible. :(

Quote:
Police in New Hampshire arrested a Rhode Island murder suspect after investigators found the body of his girlfriend in the bathtub of his home.

Gerardo Martinez, 28, of Warwick, R.I., was charged Thursday with murder in the death of Lindsay Burke, 23, of North Kingstown.

According to court documents, police in Warwick were alerted by New Hampshire state police on Wednesday night after Martinez was found at a rest stop in Canterbury wearing bloodstained clothing.

State police had received a report that someone had driven a car into a tree at the rest area, which is just north of Concord, about 150 miles from Warwick.

New Hampshire State Police Sgt. Mark Armaganian said in an affidavit that a trooper found Martinez sitting in the car, mumbling and unresponsive with cuts on his forearms.

A notebook on the seat next to him contained what appeared to be a suicide note and an apology "for what I did to Lindsay," Armaganian said in court documents.

State police sent Martinez to Concord Hospital and contacted Warwick police.

Police there had already heard from Burke's parents who were worried because their daughter had not shown up for work Wednesday, court documents say. They identified Martinez as Burke's ex-boyfriend and went to his home but got no answer.

They found blood in the first-floor bathroom of Martinez's home and Burke's body covered in blankets, with a stuffed animal placed on top, court documents say.

In uncovering the body, detectives reportedly found a deep cut to her throat. Investigators also reported finding a large knife at the scene.

Martinez was arraigned in Concord District Court on Thursday, where he was represented by the public defender's office.

Martinez is charged with being a fugitive from justice in New Hampshire. He's charged with first-degree murder in Rhode Island.

Lawyers Rebecca Jacobstein and Abigail Albee told the judge they had not had an opportunity to review the complaint with Martinez or to consider bail. Judge James E. Michalik set a new court date for Oct. 17.

State Police Lt. Russell Conte said after the hearing that New Hampshire police had impounded the car, which was registered to Burke.

Conte said state police will continue to work with Rhode Island officials.

"What we're here to do is support the investigators in Warwick, R.I.," he said. "They are the lead investigators in this."
Think while it's still legal.

Oh my god... glad they got him alive, though. Now they can make him pay. Suicide would've been too easy.

That's the only expression I can give.

I don't wish death to the guy that killed his daughter, but I wish they do something that makes him feel the same pain to him.

Tis a sad world that we live in. I don't wish death on anymore, but it would have been better if he would have died.

You don't want death see, people like him need to be tied down, each limb slowly snapped and then fed something to ENHANCE the pain.

It's slightly scary how 'commiseration' and 'sadistic revenge' seem to become intwined.

Indeed.

It's hard to lose a loved one. Especially when you see the person who took that life.
No sig.

No, there's not commiseration about it. It's all about the sadistic revenge. If anything like that ever happened to a loved one, I wouldn't rest until the ******* was dead.

And lower yourself to the person who killed your loved one's level?

That makes you no better then whoever would do it.

That's nice.

(BTW - many would agree killing an outlaw isn't as bad as killing an innocent person.)

That so.

However, there are many other ways with dealing with a murder other then death.
