My cd player in my car just broke recently, so I am being forced to listen to FM radio... I am fed up with it. It gets to a point to where you hear the same 4 songs over and over again, and they all suck.. and the ones that DON'T SUCK start to suck, cause they play them over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over ... and over and over

When I went up to Indianapolis earlier this year to help setup a new Fry's Electronics, they had the radio blasting all the time since it was only employees in the store at the time and we needed a little music, but they always had it on the same frequency. It was a pop/alternative station, and Boulevard of Broken Dreams had just been released, so the station was playing it an ungodly amount of times per day. We made of game of how counting how many times they would play it in a day. If I remember correctly most days it was somewhere around the 35-40 mark, with us working from 7:00 in the morning to about 10:00 at night. Then take into account lunch, breaks, the occasional person turning it off, and us sometimes not noticing. ;)

It's illegal in most states to drive with headphones on if you didn't know.

When I lived in Fresno I got turned on to AM talk radio. No repetitive music and much more informative. The FM stations there were horrible. I still listen to talk radio but my favorite FM station is a classic rock station out of Nashville. 105.9 The Rock.

Listen to AM and laugh at how uneducated, bigoted, and naive the vast majority people who call talkback are.

That station is the main reason I can't stand most other FM stations other than to see if there is something musical I would rather listen to at the time. Plus they carry the best syndicated morning show out there, in my opinion. I am back in their broadcast area now so I happy. The nearly four years in Fresno sucked as far as FM radio went. The did, however, have the best AM station (at the time) ever. And the broadcasting range was nearly a 200 mile radius!

In Fresno I used to listen to Howard Stern. I couldn't stand him but he sucked less than anything else that was carried in the area. Eventually I got so sick of him, I would just listen to the news that was carried on the AM station I usually listened to talk radio on later in the day.

I've been keeping track of the songs my favorite FM station plays (via software) and they've played about 130 UNIQUE songs in the past 12 hours. Not bad if I say so myself.

I haven't listened to FM Radio in years, because of XM Radio.

In our Cisco Networking class last year we listened to an FM station, Rock-X or something like that. They played that horrible american idiot song every single day, the next month is was that broken dreams song, then it was holiday. And I'm telling you, 3 or 4 times in a 2 hour block. Then they'd play slayer. Then they'd play Staind. Then they'd play Goo Goo Dolls, then they'd play some punk song. Then they'd play Led Zepplin. I'm not kidding you, it got to a point where we could make general guesses at what the next song would be, and it'd be right.

So towards the end of the year, the teacher, who's usually pretty fun to hang out with, asked if we should call and tell them to stop overplaying songs that were at one point ok or good. So we did and the announcer got really pissed off at us, saying he's been writing playlists since we were born, and he's gotten many awards for his programming, and that he is brilliant. We laughed because it was live. We SAID we were going to request american idiot to the operator... hahaha, it was hilarious.
