Oh wait, I had BitTorrent running. Hee. Without it I get over 850. While seeding several torrents my maximum was around 200. :o

This year they completely did away with the bandwidth usage restriction here. Previously, they would throttle you down after uploading 500 MB or downloading a gig in a day (roughly, the system was intermittant so it didn't catch you immediately). It was only enforced via MAC address though, so I just wrote a little app to change my NIC's MAC address on set intervals to get around it. This year it's completely gone though, which is nice, cause I don't have to kill the connection every 30 minutes or so after I upload too much and restart it. Having roughly 10 Mbps up makes 500 MB not take long if you're not throttling that, heh.

In the last month, downloaded 75.01 gigs and uploaded 186.56 gigs. Gah, I'm sure ITS loves me.

Yeah, right... I don't believe anybody here thinks Emon really thought something had happened to his upload speed. He just wanted to have any excuse to post that purely crazy download speed.

Ordinarily that would be true, but I honestly forgot Azereus was running. A floormate of mine had stopped over when I ran the test and we couldn't figure out why it was so low.

mine is 13,000kbps and 468kbps, but that's behind i'm behind two router so it slows thing down, but too lazy to do direct connect.

Your bandwidth has no direct impact on ping. You could have huge bandwidth down and still have awful pings of 1000+, like with satellite. The only time it comes into play is if your bandwidth manages to get saturated and has to wait for information to be sent/receieved.

University IT keeps saying if all the illegal downloading weren't going on the server, speed would be a lot faster, but I have my doubts about anything IT says.

probably didn't help my work upload speed any that i was running the test over remote desktop and it was doing all that flash junk
