Van Gogh wins for the most time I have spent in front of a wall at a museum. This crappy jpg really does not do the painting justice, the colours and brushstrokes are simply amazing.

I don't care if some will complain becuase he works in the field of comics but I would definately have to say, Alex Ross. His work with Mark Waid on Kingdom Come was just amazing in my opinon.

Salvador Dali
I don't have any particular favourite painting, but his museum in Figueres, Spain just blew me away. He has done many stunning visual things with his pictures, for which most people today would need a computer to create.
So I'll post just an example (nudity warning).

All patriotic Americans should click this link and move away from their screen:
Abraham Lincoln

All you people that want to see nude paint should remain close to their screen and click this link:

Ernst Ludwig Kirchner - Frauen auf der Straße

I fell in love with Expressionism during my time in Berlin. It's just so... expressive.

Dali had amazing technique, but his subjects are not pleasing at all. But then, that was not his point either.

I agree with people who like Salvador Dali.

(if you look closely at the second pic, you can "see" a certain animal)

...I spent like 5 minutes trying to decide if that was supposed to be an optical illusion.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Lassev: I guess there was something captivating in savagery, because I liked it.

William Blake, and what is now one of his more well-known works because of the novel/movie Red Dragon.
