Texas Instruments TI-83+ Games?

This is what I'm talking about.

The cable to connect it over the USB port comes with it. Is it easy to setup and to download games?

What are some sites you recommend for games?
2004-05-18, 1:38 PM #2
Insanely easy. Just get MirageOS (it's kindof an OS for the calculator... it goes under the apps button) and download games that run under it.

you can probably find a lot of stuff here

Hmmm... I know I used to have a Zelda game, but it wasn't finished. There was only like one dungeon and then the "demo" like thing was over [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif] It was kindof stupid.

Games I'd recommend: pheonix, falldown (or fallup) and obviously the good old classics - snake, frogger, tetris, galaxian, etc. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Is there a difference between MirageOS and ION? Can you run ION games with the first?
2004-05-18, 3:08 PM #6
As far as I know, you can run all ION games with Mirage but not all Mirage games with ION. :x

At my old high school, someone wrote a game called "Drug cartel" that was a drug selling simulator where you ran your own empire.

Simple but fun. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

I have an 86 too. I want to retry assembly programming now that I've had a couple of classes on assembler (8086 assembler but I can apply concepts to Z80 assembler).

you gotta download gemini. it's an actual FPS for the calc. pretty much like doom (not that crappy every 8 feet there's a new picture kinda thing). there's also a nice wolf3d version of it, too.

I've got the package you were looking at on Amazon, and I really like it. The link makes it really easy to back up your calc files onto the computer, which has saved me a few times. I also took times and distances when we were testing our trebuchet we made for physics class, and put them on my calculator while we were out there. When I came in, it was really easy to just put the info into Excel and make charts.

Oh, and for games I've got Mario Brothers 3, PimpQuest, Lotus Racing (good game), tetris, solitare, fall up, checkers, Doom(in french), and some other stuff. You will probably be able to find more stuff for the 83 than for most other calcs.

I got it and everything works.

Does anyone know a good TI-83+ version of fall down?

Also, for some reason, my x and y scales when pressing graph disappeared, how do I get them back?

If you mean what I think you do it would be under the Format menu - [2nd][ZOOM].

I've got fallup if you want it. You can always turn over your calculator.

Indeed. I did a Soda Wars TC for it once, complete with jokes that only people at my school would get, but I lost it when the battery died.

Galaxian and Phoenix 83 are good, but neither can measure up to the awesomeness that is Phoenix 89.

If you own an older calculator (82,85,86) the new silver cable (TI-Connect) won't work with the software provided by TI. But TI-Calc has software that will allow it to work with 82 et al.

You can get fall down here -- scroll down to fdown.zip and fdownx.zip -- and apparently fdownx.zip is a 2 player expansion for it... cool.
