I need a good idea for an indie free magazine theme, size A5, about 60 pages.

Must be original and interesting to the general English-speaking public. Which is quite a limitation, considering that I live in Hungary and all. Main target audience are foreign (as in not Hungarian) students, and some tourists. Young folk who speak English, basically.

Suggestions would be appreciated.

You people are completely unhelpful. We have silly threads for a reason - so that silly people can post in them. You are in a serious thread. Either get serious, or go get lost in a silly thread.

Now, I don't claim any of these ideas will be to your liking, but heck, at least they're more applicable than Jesus in Space. :rolleyes:

  • Science Fiction (this could be narrowed down to the latest shows, books, or movies - Serenity would make a good launch platform for this)
  • If this is for foreign students coming to Hungary, perhaps a friendly tour guide of great locations, restaurants, landmarks, etc. in multiple languages
  • This is kinda lame, but maybe an art/poetry or writing magazine - maybe you could feature student submitted work

Yeah, I'd have to agree with Echoman. I think an arts magizine would be a cool thing, and be sure to cover all kinds of visual art (besides dancing :p ) I think people would like to see some traditionally made stuff, and some digital art.

There's a free mag here called Creative Loafing. Basically, it just talks about stuff that's going on locally, has reviews of local music, food, theatre, arts and stuff. Has some really funny stuff like the police blotter, which basically takes stupid crime stories that have happened that week in print. News of the weird.
