How amusingly barbaric, yet clever. I wounder how much I would sell for as a ring...
2005-10-06, 10:18 PM #5
Hardly barbaric...how is it more barbaric then scattering ashes in the sea? It's not like they are making gems out of it to hock at the pawn shop...its a memorial type thing.

*places a head of a person on a spike, carrying it into town.*

You make a point, but I have sources.

Well to be honest, most traditions can be seen as barbaric if they're not the norm. What if we always turned people into bling? What would we think of people who buried stiffs in the ground?

Cremation was considered an unbelievable sin in the early sumarian days, all the way up to King David (of the Arabic nations), and was considered if you burned the body, their spirit will be damned.

It is now a common practice today.

Romans prefered cremation.

Dismemberment of the body was horrible to the ancient celtic-druidaic religions. Seperating the head from the body was separting the soul from the underworld.

Suprisingly, the orgins of this philopsphy in England, has evolved towards that some Nobles prefered to be beheaded rather than hung.

Some Amazon tribes consider burrial of their people horrible. They prefer to cannibalize them, to make part of their spirit one with them, and to not have the worms and maggots apart of them.

Now because of western influence, they are reluctantly placing their dead corpses under ground.

I've actually been planning on having this done since I first heard about it a couple of years ago, especially since the company that does it is just about two hours away from where I live. As soon as I get to the point where I actually have some sort of will drawn up, I will make sure that this is stated in it as my wishes.

Argh. I motion that the word "experience" be banned for the next decade. That'll learn 'em. Also the word "media" unless it pertains to news organizations.

Personally I find it kinda creepy, but hey whatever floats your boat. I wonder if people do it for dead pets as well, that's slightly less creepy to me.

I don't think they are that valuable in the end... Making them must cost more than they are really worth.

I guess.

Well, the people who are pro-execution will still watch criminal die. And those who are anti-execution will get shiny new rings and forget their agenda. Everyone wins!

Up to 20 grand? Oh man, I'm going to become a hitman.
I'll kill the person for whatever price is on their head, then turn them into a pretty diamond and sell it.
