Oh trust me, I'd still play wow if it wasn't for its worthless artistic style. Drives me berserk after a while.

I personally like Everquest II

I wouldn't call WoW's artistic style worthless. Warcraft has always been cartoony and overly gorey. (Hanging chunks of animals for the win I suppose).

And it's lore is fantabulous. It's filled to the BRIM with story elements, books to read, characters to find from previous games / books / P&P games etc. I honestly don't know what there's not to like about the game itself. The only problem is the community on some servers.

I was never a big fan of online games that I had to pay for... but some of my friends that do play it say that EQ was much better than EQ2... you might have better luck finding a community for EQ... I'm not really sure about that though.

Being a graphic whore and all, I wont find home in EQ1 :P

But instead of going back to EQ2, I've decided to save my cash for my 360 and Elder Scrolls IV. Till then well, I'll be nail biting. :( Or playing HL2 but I'm not a great fan of fps

Counter Strike is pretty fun, it's not really true HL2 though... it's Counter Strike. ;)

I played the Everquest II trial of isles for about 4 days and I thought Everquest II wasn't so bad of a game. The game, imo, was a cross between WoW and SWG in terms of gameplay. The character creation is much better than WoW (but on par on SWG, as expected since it the same developer) but sadly picking a race in this game is purely superficial and only restricts whether you can make a good or bad character. EQII has no PvP what-so-ever so obviously WoW would be better for those who want PvP. I thought about getting Everquest II while I was taking a break from WoW but since Everquest II didn't really offer much over WoW, I decided to just stick with WoW.

The one thing I liked about EQ2 was its graphics. They were dark, grungy, plain and dreary (for the evil side, at least), and ultra realistic.
