I have no memories of this new guy, even from Tomb Raider, but I hope he can pull off the role. Brosnan was a good actor, but personally I think he was too much an action hero and too little a womanizer. But perhaps that was partly due to the new manuscripts.

He was good in Road to Perdition and Layer Cake. I'm skeptical, but we'll see.

Clive OWen would have been my first choice, but he didn't want the role. Craig was number two on my list, and I think he'll do a good job. Much better choice than some of the other names that were floating around.

He doesn't really look like a Bond to me. Connery, Brosnan, and Moore all LOOKED like James Bond. (Dalton, was too odd-looking). But this guy looks too....rough? Bond was always a handsome suave chap. I dunno, if he can pull it off in dialogue and acting, then great. But as far as I'm concerned, he doesn't look the part.

Wow, I'm suprised people are so ambivalent about him being chosen. Personally, I think he looks totally wrong for Bond. Tall, dark, and handsome is how I view Bond - Brosnan was all of these and fit the role like a glove. Now I realize to each their own - Bond seems to get recreated by each actor that plays him. However.... I really just don't see it in this guy.

He's not exactly Mr. Good Looks (not ugly, but not exactly Bond material - I could see him playing a villain), and looks older than Brosna, despite bing only 37. He's too craggy, not smooth enough. Again, maybe a villain?

I just think that the producers are making a big mistake. After Brosnan, it seems like they are taking mucho risks by "downgrading" to a little known actor who is probably farther from the established Bond mold than any actor before him. I don't know, maybe he'll be able to pull it off, but I have some SERIOUS doubts at the moment.

He's got the voice but not the looks to be Bond. I guess he'd look younger and more 007-ish if he dyed his hair black.

With names like Colin Farell, Orlando Bloom and Hugh Jackman linked to the role as well, we should all be happy with the choice.

Roger Moore wasn't really all that.. dark, and he's one of my favorite bonds.

He was too old and unathletic. He looked really awkward running around. Dalton and Brosnan looked more natural in the athletic sense.

To me, my mental image of what Bond should look like is Brosnan. However, Connery was the better Bond. As for this guy, I'm not sure. I echo the sentiments of some of those who think he doesn't quite look "Bond" enough. Unfortunately, the only acting I have seen of him is from Road to Perdition. From what I recall he did an excellent job, I ended up despising the character.

Never heard of the guy before so I don't know his acting credentials. Based on the looks, the hair color is a problem. I know that we moved away from the past of discrimination of color but he simply doesn't cut it. His face resembles Dalton, somewhat (the hair makes a huge difference though if you compare heads). He definitely isn't as handsome as Brosnan.

Although what is important is the quality of the movie. Since I love to rant about how everything after Goldeneye sucked, I expect "Casino Royale" to suck too.

I have to say, I think Hugh had the looks for Bond, at least as I view Bond ideally. He's a decent actor from what I've seen of him as well, so yeah, I wouldn't have been unhappy if he'd been picked. My top 3 preferences were Hugh, Clive Owen, and maybe Ewan McGregor.

'Bout time. Brosnan was starting to annoy me.

Hey now, don't get all angry, I'm just saying that it was time for someone else. He was a very good Bond, and a very good actor, but it's time for a change.
Very funny Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.
