Should I play the Fallouts... Again?
2005-10-15, 12:40 AM #1
I've played through these two games (Fallout 1 and Fallout 2) over 3 times each. That makes for about, what, 600 (maybe MUCH more) hours out of my life? And sadly, I'm not exaggerating.

So... Another go?

I am in the middle of Fallout2 right now. These games have great replay.

F2 has a better interface than the first game, the world is also bigger. F1 is a great game but I haven't played it in ages.

I loved Fallout 1, and beat it.
I sorta do half of two, then lose my sense of motivation.

There's always time for more Fallout.

Only 600 hours? You need to play more Fallout.

Sure.

Or play Deus Ex.

Mmmm... Fallout...

I re-played Fallout 1 a few months ago. I'd destroyed the Vats, had the Enhanced Power Armor and Enhanced Plasma Rifle, and was ready to enter the Master's area, when I realized I couldn't. I didn't have the key, or skill, or something... in fact, I think that savegame's still there. I might go check it later.

PLUS I had Fast Shot or something, combined with a few Action Boys and maybe Quick Pockets. Don't remember exactly, but I ended up having the 10 action points, with my shiny EP Rifle costing me 2 AP per shot. It was lovely. <3

I used to have Fallout 2, but it's been missing for some time. Wish I could find it.

And, finally... Fallout Tactics. ALMOST beat it. Almost.. Eventually I think I just gave up, but I was near the end.

I should play those games again. :) Sigh... probably three of my all-time faves on PC.

Planescape Torment

:(

I just went back to try and install Fallout: Tactics, and one of the files on the first disk won't install :( It goes onto the next disks after the error message, but at the end of the installation process it just quits to desktop. There's no obvious scratches or anything on the disk, either.

I've always liked Planescape: Torment the most.

Whoop! Alcohol wipes rock. I gave the first disk a thorough wipe-down, tried the install again, and it worked! :D Strange thing is, this has happened before and the alcohol wipes haven't worked...meh, I'm not complaining :p
