Skating...

Ok... this is somehting I have to talk about to you people... so I go to a garage sale about a month ago, and found some skates for 6 bucks... (60 pesos) apparently the dude selling it had no idea they were werth 30 bucks... so I buy em... and I'm just flat out tired of falling on my rumpuss, scraching both legs and arms, and having scars on my face from this thing... I skate in this parking lot and there are lots of small rocks that get stuck in the wheels... now the weird thing is, I see other kids skating there and they have no problem.... but when I go to a flat place with little or no debri, I got no problems, such as a basket ball court etc... I dunno, I'm just to hurt to go on blindly.
Nothing to see here, move along.

Well, I don't know anything about skating (except ice skating; I'm so Canadian :p ) so I can't really help you...

Guys, please don't turn this thread into an attack on SF_Gold again.

If you're gonna skate, do it right. For the record I've got some superflats I've been skating until I get my own, and Haffey is a god.

General physics emplies that the faster you skate, ie. the faster the wheel is going, the less imperfections in the surface you're skating on will effect the wheel. So my advice is go as fast as humanly possible down a really big hill! *and helmets are for losers!

Yes. Very acceptable.

I've skated on and off as often as the moon turns blue. I've gotten pretty good. I can usually roller skate or ice skate forward at a fairly moderate speed without falling over now. :D

Yeah, going slower is going to make falling over easier, but also makes falling over hurt less so...

If you can get up the courage to go a little faster than you'd like you might find it makes it easier to stay up. Or you might trigger Murphy's Law and fall on your face.

Pssh. Murphy's so overrated.

In my dream he gets his arms cut off so he can't steal people's work anymore.

Also, he bleeds to death.

Did you steal those skates?

Seriously though, I've never *really* gotten into street skating, just ice. From my limited experiance, it's pretty much the same but instead of falling onto (In comparison) soft ice compared to falling onto scratchy rough concrete, and the fact you're on wheels instead of actual blades. It takes some practice, but you'll eventually get used to it.

Last time I did that exact thing was the only time I've ever broken my arm.

I have a brother named Robert, unfortunately... he's a bum, never finished high school, the worse person to get along with, jealous of everyone, never had a wife, never will either... I only assume you're just like him, cause you sound like him. No I didn't steal the skates, thats impossible.

A. I graduated from Highschool.
B. I'm easy to get along with, if you aren't a work stealing *******, or just an idiot.
C. In the next 10 years, I will probably be married. You'll however still be speaking broken english faking games, and will probably be dating palmela handerson.
D. Don't ever bring my personal life into this, at any level, ever again.

Learn to skate fast but don't slam on the brakes or you'll fall flat on your face. ;)
